    Revy motor question

Ok, bit of an explanation here

I've been wanting to get a clear halo TSA hopper for a while (the best agitator ever made!) and I noticed today that ans has the clear shells for sale finally. But rather than take apart my perfectly good lcd that I painted I'd rather build an all clear one.

I'd like to do another lcd and ans has the boards even but no backer plates for the lcd version. Ok, I can live with the led version. But what I can't live with is a hopper that doesn't have a motor. I can't find the motors anywhere. They look very similar to the revy motors. I'm pretty sure it's the same plug (flat 4 pin right?) but the TSA doesn't have the short plug that goes to the touch sensor of the revy.

Does anyone know the brand/model of the motor in the revy? I want to see if maybe I can get one from a manufacturer or possibly speced with only the 4 pin connector that does to the board

I shot you a message; I've got an LCD TSA kicking around that could find a new home.

The Revy Motor is an RF-020TH. pretty common servo motor and still made from what I understand.

Hmmm. I thought it was sold as a whole assembly with the gearbox

I've been on a bit of a mission for these myself - they were made specifically for viewloader with unique (supposedly) heavy duty gearing. Tippmannparts.com has about 40 of them for sale - once they are gone they're gone. of course JT still makes a version of the Revy and I'm not sure what they put in it, but why re-invent the wheel right?

Man that's weird because the housing it's in is straight out of the RC car world. I figured they took one from that world and just added the plug off the other side that goes to the touch sensor so I figured it would be easy to find one that doesn't have that plug. Guess I was wrong

They are called continuous rotation servos.

No idea if this plug is correct, revy is 3 or 4 prong plug? I just grabbed this as an example

I know they started out as off the shelf RC servo’s. Somewhere in my digging i did see an article that they had a number of issues and made a change somewhere in the early Revy days. I think one early version was not so affectionately called a shredder. Hopefully someone here can shed some light. I would like to find a modern equivalent for my VL-90 revy project. Preferably cheap!

I have examples of some very early ones and later revy’s. Early ones are in-marked. Later ones have a viewloader label and definitely different gearing, wish i knew more about gearing to spot why they did what they did

I'll be taking apart a halo TSA at some point in the future here. I'm going to examine the servo in that closely because of my memory is correct it is very similar to a revy.

But obviously the real solution is to convince all you non believers that the halo TSA is the better agitator of the two
