    The Mini GS from hell

Picked up a borked mini gs for basically free

Top board was toast and yanked a pin off the second board, so I replaced both.

Tried test shooting with good battery, and the bolt doesn’t cycle completely. It seems to only be going halfway to 3/4 down the breech, not far enough to fire.

New noid, orings, method poppet don’t help. Reg at 200psi.
Spring is on correctly, removing detents and bolt tip make no difference.
Board reset to default, set to max dwell, neither help.
Can’t find any obstructions in airways.

Gonna get a new bolt spring with my next anusgear order, but that’s a $3 lottery ticket

    Anyone ever seen this?
I’ve fixed my bodyweight in Minis but this one is eluding me

Sounds like you need another Mini GS and start swapping individual parts until you can isolate what is causing the issue. Marker like you have are so frustrating. Has to be a reason for the issue, but what is it?!

I miss that part of working in a shop, having tons of other guns around to swap and test parts

I haven't seen this, but I had a buddy with a cold solder joint on his brand new mini gs power button causing issues i would suspect a colt solder joint in general. But I would inspect the plug header that the solenoid itself plugs into as a start in this case.

A few seconds with an iron and leaded solder fixed my buddies right up.

        Crushed body tube?

Try putting some prussian blue on the bore then sliding the bolt down, and see if there are drag marks.

If you don't have Prussian blue, sharpie works in a pinch.

Yeah I was going to suggest putting the bolt through the breach on it's own and seeing if something is causing it to catch.

Check for witness marks on anything

Have you messed with the back cap velocity adjustment? If it's screwed in all the way I could see it doing this as well

Do GS's have that same little plastic flow restrictor that classic Minis have? It might have fallen out when you swapped boards.
And God turned to Gabriel and said: “I shall create a land called Canada of outstanding natural beauty, with majestic mountains soaring with eagles, sparkling lakes abundant with bass and trout, forests full of elk and moose, and rivers stocked with salmon. I shall make the land rich in oil so the inhabitants prosper and call them Canadians, and they shall be praised as the friendliest of all people.”

“But Lord,” asked Gabriel, “Is this not too generous to these Canadians?”

And God replied, “Just wait and see the neighbors I shall inflict upon them."

Bit late but I went looking to confirm. The Mini GS does in fact have the flow restrictor. Rory removes it from the body at 11:05 in this video:

Now I'm going to double check if my Axe Pro is supposed to have one.

Yeah that stupid little thing can cause some serious grief. can't remember the symptoms exactly but I think they were along those lines. - flow restrictor!

The flow restrictor is important, but not really critical. It just makes the initial bolt acceleration a bit slower, which makes it more gentle with brittle paint.
              I can haz feedback?
If I owe you feedback, just remind me, as I sometimes forget.

If you can’t figure it out i would email Kore tech support. They’ve been really easy to work with the couple of times I’ve dealt with them.

Every fubar mini I've met is either fixed with a full rebuild/teardown, or with the removal of aftermarket parts. I'd swap the aftermarket for stock and go from there.

Finally got a working mini gs to properly diagnose

It’s the effin bolt guide. How? Idk, it looks good to me, used the same orings, poppet and velo adjuster, and bolt/spring but no good.

Is the bolt guide bent? With the gun assembled without the bolt spring and aired up (since that applies a significant off-axis force on the bolt guide), are you able to see if the bolt moves freely?

I'm pretty sure pushing the bolt around like this should not vent any air, but I would take care.

I've seen this before but mostly in axes
