    Bolter a-5 work this far

    Hey y'all!

So I got my a-5 converted to mag.

And possibly a 3d printer figured out for the shroud.

But this is my proof of concept sizing wise. No it won't be small.

Just curious on y'all's thoughts. Basically how I wanna run the a-5 bones I side of the shroud I gotta design.

    Open to suggestions or ideas.

      Here's a crazy thought.

The barrel of the bolter is always considerably oversized for the lore. It's a .75 cal projectile, but the barrels all look to be about 2". So I'd put the air tank where the bolter barrel is, use some 2" pvc to make a "muzzle brake" to go over the butt of the tank. The actual barrel would go through the top protuberance, which according to the lore is actually a camera of all things. The bottom protuberance is a bayonet lug, for those wondering.

That would bother me to no end if the barrel wasn’t the actual barrel

Maybe look at some X7 shrouds to build out the barrel more. Some are big and blocky. Not sure how they'll line up with the front of the Vortex though.

How are you going to fill the air tank?

So a few replies, I'll stay on track as best I can.

While I love the idea of the tank being the "barrel" I think it'd bug me if it wasn't the actual barrel. I love the outside the box though!

I'm figuring a a whole printed shroud- so not sure if need to reference a x7, or I'm just misunderstanding whatcha mean.

Bottle under vs over barrel, I played with both, but I think over might work out better? Attachment point for an asa, that's sturdy would be fairly easy as there's already tails up top (and there's not much to work with by the magwell.

Filling the tank. My thought was make a removable section of the shroud. Maybe the upper section. But haven't quite worked that detail out yet. Damn I wish it could run on hope. 😂

Adding pic of the vortex without edits, just so y'all can see the details for mounts and such.

And thank you! Loving these ideas!
