WWA Barrel(s) problem

Hi all on MCB,

I've got those White Wolf Airsmithing barrels (1 Aequitas & 1 Veritas) with Spyder threads and, for the life of me, I can't figure out why they aren't able to screw into most of my Spyders. They only seem to screw in to my Raven Primal just fine, they even screw in to a Lapco bore sizer fully, but neither fit my Raven Nexion or other Kingman Spyder bodies. I don't get it. Why is there this difference in fitment? Was this a known issue with WWA Spyder barrels back in the day? And how do I get them to fit properly across all my Spyders?

Spyders have pretty loose tolerances I've run into this with multiple barrel types.

It's the first time I've run into this problem. I guess I've been lucky with all the Spyders and barrels I've had over the years. So what's the best solution to this? Do I get a tap and re-cut the threads in the bodies or get a die to do the threads on the barrels?

Problem solved! I went ahead and bought an M22 tap and die set, took a couple of weeks to get to me, then found that the thread die won't fit around the barrel's end. So that was one of my two options eliminated right out of the gate. Fortunately the thread tap worked just fine and, after a bit of elbow grease was implemented, half an hour later both barrels now fit nice and snug in a few bodies. There was a lot of 'to-and-fro'ing between careful tapping and test fitting but I got there in the end. I gotta say, WD40 worked so well as a cutting oil. Wasn't expecting that! 🤣
