What are yall's favorite memory relating to paintball? Mine would probably have to be my experiences at Fulda Gap and camping out with new people. Wish I could expand upon it more but I just remember having a blast socializing off the field.

NPPL at Gillette Stadium in 06, my dad brought my little brother and I and that blew my 16 year old brain. -
When the Dogs of war came to my short lived home field - Adventure Mountain Paintball in Boonville, CA somewhere around 93' or 94' my (maybe) 15 year old brain exploded. Great memories from that day that are still clear as day all these years later.what I would have given for a camera phone back then!
Bacci's annual games - embody the true meaning of paintball in every-way.
A couple summers around 03 - 04 playing outlaw ball in the woods of North lake Tahoe with a rag tag group - we would drive down to Carson City and buy GAP paint from the factory. some of the best, longest and most satisfying head shots i've ever achieved during those games. Makes me sick to think how good that paint was, and the most beautiful natural fields I've ever played on.

Just playing with friends in a random part of the forest/jungle. We never had money to pay the fees at the fields so we just drive around and scouted areas in random neighborhoods. We mos def looked like we were casing houses haha canāt do that now daysLeave Feedback if you wants. https://www.mcarterbrown.com/forum/b...edgin-feedbackComment

The first time I gogged a guy with a stock class Phantom while sliding into a 4plex. š. Might be the only time actually š
Getting a dead leg by running past a renter and got hit close range in the butt cheek. Faceplant ensued.Comment

Getting a marker when I was 12 and playing in the woods with friends. Then almost a decade later seeing electro markers at the field. Then seeing a guy playing with a pump at a field putting it on electros. That made me get a pump and use it. Friends made along the way aināt bad eitherComment

Mine was definitely getting to be a part of the MTV Sports episode in 1994! I got to play with some of my favorite heavy metal ICONS at SC Village in Corona CA!! Guys from Slayer, Anthrax, Testament and Kiss were there! Still have my media pass signed by most of them! Even found some old footage of the episode!

It's a tie for me. My first Castle with people that became my second family and my little cousin stepping on the filed for the first time last fall and being hooked immediately. I got a new sidekick that day and he's been with me at the field just about every time I go since.Comment

I've got stories. From World Cup '98 to Castle games at EMR.
My daughter wanted to see what daddy was doing and asked to go with me.
On her 9th birthday I took her to Strategy Plus in CT. They said she couldn't play, Insurance restrictions minimum 10 years old. So, they made her a ref.
For her birthday.
When I had a bounty on my head for 2 years at Survival New York?
Meeting folks like Bob Gurnsey, Tom Kaye, Glenn Palmer, Bud Orr among others?
Been playing since 1988. I knew these big name folks weren't coming to me, I had to travel to where they were. Even flew to some.
Airline experiences with markers are a whole different story.
I've collected some 45+ years of paintball memories. There is no single favorite anymore.
They conglomerate into one large happy experience and many, many stories.Comment

Warning: middle-aged man's ramblings ahead.
I'm probably forgetting a few, but what comes to mind at this moment would be the following:
- My very first game in 1990. 4 teenagers with Brass Eagle pump guns and ski masks (I know...), with a 100 paintballs each or so. We played on public land located in a suburb; that would land us in police custody nowadays! During the first game I found a trench located on a remote hill and stayed hunkered down waiting for someone to pass by. I was afraid to breathe too loud, lest I give away my position. After 20 minutes my 3 friends came out looking for me, thinking I got lost. Later that day when I understood the actual ranges involved and overall dynamics, I got into my first 'heated' one on one gunfight. Using 'clanker' pumps, frantically trying to shoot each other at close range was quite something. It ended in a draw as we finally hit each other at the same time. Later on I managed to land a clean shot on another friend's face (the one hosting the game). He was a bit miffed, asking me next time to avoid aiming for the face. As I was about 75ft away from him, I recall vaguely aiming for his general outline!
-My first big game: the first Canadian Carnage in 2011. I had never been to an event with hordes of players before. The most I had seen was when I did woodsball tournaments and then some speedball 3-men events. There must have been at least 1,000 players. When the game started and I realized the sheer scale of the affair, I had absolutely no idea what to do, where to go or how to play. I spent the first hour getting shot, going back to the spawn point, to come back to the game and get shot again without taking anyone out, and so on. Then it clicked: the dynamics dawned on me and I finally "got it". I sought isolated sections to gain ground, work angles, etc. I went from being a walking target to positive contributor to the team. I remember being far ahead into the trenches on the opposite side taking out one player after the other by crawling around and popping out at different spots. Then I got low on air and paintballs (I was shooting an Ego11, thankfully being very air efficient), and was at the forefront with no team mates around. I was near one of the opposition's spawn points, and by moving around in the trenches, snap shooting here and there, I gave the illusion that I was not alone and thus managed to bog down re-inserting players. I pulled it off until I was completely dry on air and paintballs.
Another memory from that game would be when a handful of us had advanced so far up into the opposition's lines that we were within short distance of their general's tent. We saw that it was lightly defended so we made a go for it! I'll always remember entering the tent and asking for the general's surrender (who happens to be a well-known paintball personality). I'll never forget the disconcerted look on his face. Unbeknownst to me, HQ tents were 'booby trapped' and we were all automatically eliminated, but the psychological effect must have counted for something!
-Fast forward to about 6 years later and I'm at PRZ (I really miss that field) during a big game. My side is losing *badly*. There were those tubular devices where you push one side to show your team colour to claim an area of the field (how are they called again?). At one point on the main field (adjacent to the old military hospital) there were almost no players from my team left. The opposite team was actually walking around wondering what was going on as they had no targets and there was no visible frontline. So witnessing all that from a distance, I took on a bold gamble. I decided to march along the edge of the field in a nonchalant manner. I *did* make sure my arm bands were clearly visible and never put my gun up. Upon being challenged (which only came up at the end) I would clearly state that I'm an active player, even if I knew I'd become a paint magnet. To my amazement, I managed to walk past the bulk of the opposition and landed in their rearguard, which was barren. Then I saw a ref, and I'll never forget his giggling when he saw the colour of my armbands. I asked him to walk with me as I pushed the unattended tubes to my side's colour and he would diligently record the amount of time territory was under 'our control'. As I went back towards the bulk of the remaining opposite players, my ruse came to an end and I, duly so, took an ample volley of paintballs. What I did was nowhere near enough to tip the balance and we obviously lost the game in the end, but man was that fun!
-This last one's from last year, actually. I now play at two fields, one which is more laid-back and the other which is more intense. I tend to play pump or "slow semi" at the laid-back venture but play with a speedball gun at the 'intense' one. On the latter field, there are scores of players (groups of 30 vs 30 are not rare), many players can each go through cases of paintballs and there's a fair amount of skilled speedball players mixed in. Yet, on my 'paintball bucket list' I had included the following: to spend a day at that field with ONLY a pump gun and bring absolutely nothing else, to resist the temptation to switch to something else mid day after getting "owned" repeatedly, which I was certain was bound to happen. I would thus force myself to commit to it, no matter what. Well one day I finally did it and lo and behold to my surprise I did not get "owned" at all. I even managed to acquit myself fairly, being able to stay in the game and score more hits then me being being hit (I define such 'success' as if I eliminate 2 players for me being eliminated once). Since then I frequently play pump at that venue."Aren't you getting too old for this??"
"Nope."Comment

I have had some amazing experiences over the years but hands down my favorite has been teaching my two boys how to play.Comment

Planting the idea for pump fest here in VA and the Cousins field running with it and hosting 3 so far. Glad I was able to at least attend the first one.
I have a love/hate relationship with Phantoms but this is from within the last 2 years. Running stock class VSC, stock-less. One of the first games of the day, a guy who normally works as a ref was playing and using an old Spyder with a Rockin trigger frame and a Rotor. He would just sit in one spot and spray and pray every game. I made my way up and one ball snap shit this fool, it felt great.
After my first time playing (2001 ish) I was hooked and did all I could to get my own gear, which I did, but then didn't have money to ever play again as a middle schooler. But my second time out see a guy a grade above us I recognized from school with a gold B2k, Proflex, jersey. Intimidation! A couple friends and I were piled in a bunker when this same dude pops his head in and instead of mowing is down just says surrender, you're all out! Afterwards he said how it made for a funny story and to not worry about it.

A have a few. My dad taking me to the local paintball store and picking out my first marker.
Playing true woodsball back at my old field that has since been turned into a townhouse complex. One particular slow summer afternoon we played a fun respawn game where you were paired. Played with different people every time and went again other duos, so never knew when your opponent was coming from. Was great fun.
Playing with a local outlaw group withy brother-in-law. Great group of guys played at different locations, the āhome fieldā the property owner had a big Germans shepherd that really liked to steal your lunch. Guys had trip mines etc. Good times.
Family games: once a year or so u trying to get a parting outing of family members and friend. A lot of cousins and nephews made it out and was great to spend that time together, especially the younger generation.
Target shooting with my kids in the yard. The are too young still, but are keen. My youngest cleans any new to me marker and my oldest has asked to learn to shoot better before she tries to play.Comment
