Going to a buddy's bachelor party 5 years ago after having not played since 2010. It was a total blast and I caught the bug again. Should've never stopped.

Another good one was the time I got a guy with the surrender rule without firing a shot by sneaking up on him. Moving when he moved but keeping a bunker between me and him I slowly got close enough to simply step out of cover and yell surrender. He had no idea I was there and I felt like Solid Snake.

I think it was my 2nd ever scenario game, in 1998 or 1999, at Skirmish (Wayne Dollack game). Either the Tour of Duty or Tunguska Files? My friends and I registered, and having played the summer before we made sure each of us requested a role on the registration form. When the ID cards had arrived, we'd ended up with a medic, demolitions, and engineer roles....and we put those to good use!

The demo expert got a small canvas army surplus ammo bag and a bunch of demolition cards. Certain structures could be demo'd with 1-2 cards, while the big ones would take up to 4. The nearby referee would tell you the cost, record the demolition, and direct anyone inside the building to the dead box. We promptly put a rock in the bag so we could throw the "explosives" instead of running it up to the buildings (genius! right?). At the time, these games ran all through the night. So we made the most of that by sneaking all over the field blowing up the other team's outposts, castles, and HQ! We ended up killing their General at least 3 times, and disrupting the territory they held enough that our team made a solid advance by morning.

We were just a bunch of scrappy nobodies in hand me down camo, but our general gave us ("that unknown team blowing things up all night long") a shout out when the scores were tallied the next day.

Skirmish no longer runs their summer scenario game (ION) all night. Apparently, players kept getting lost in the dark and ending up miles down the road...

Went to a "big game" at Splatterpark in central Ohio back in like 2001/2002 with a buddy and his older brother. There were upwards of 1,000 people there. They split us up into two teams and played various woods ball games.

One memorable moment, our team came upon a 2-story wooden fort in the woods and we took it for our own. I was on the second story with several others when another team came upon us. They had about 10 or so guys with Angels form a front line and just laid a barrage of full auto fire on the fort for several minutes. Those of us in the fort were covered in paint splatter from what was getting through the wood slats. Several teammates attempted to return fire through a window and instantly got pelted. Another teammate frustratingly stuck his middle finger out the window and also got hit several times in that short time. All of us in the fort eventually surrendered as we had no chance against the line of electro guys. There was a ramp to leave the second story of the fort and we were all slipping and sliding down it as everything was covered in paint.

At the end of the day, we all had a "headshots only" free for all game in a large field. Got hit a few times but wasn't out until paint hit my mask.

and I huddled under a pulled down, popup canopy for survival and tales of Glorping. wind was whippin, there was a small river running through our camp, the camaraderie was maxxed out.
          Good paintball too.

After 30+ years of playing I would say my favorite memories are the people and things that have happened off the field. Sure there have been some games that I think back on but I think back to and fondly remember the times after playing way more.

The night that Slimbo88 posted about above where we were huddled under a canopy was way better than any game that weekend. I may have laughed the hardest in my life that night.

But really it comes down to the people and friends that I’ve met and made. I cant possibly name everyone or all the great times off the field that are because of paintball. Sure some of you are downright crazy and weird but aren’t we all.

Agreed 100% it’s hard to hammer down a specific event. It’s definitely about the people I have met along the way. We are a collective of odd individuals who share the same hobby and I wouldn’t have it any other way!

Wow, after 35 years thats a tough one. So many great battles over the years. From starting in small games to world record events. I am certain the most memorable is the players and friends i have played with and had the opportunity to make a new friend. The memories (hopefully)will be the ones that make me grin when im too old to walk, but bring a grin to my face. Thanks to all of you brothers in arms. Some of lifes best moments.
