Longest break was 3-4 years while in college. And currently languishing in a break presently for about year and a half. After starting flight training and a family, my paintball activities dropped off pretty dramatically. Only got around to playing one or two days at Supergame each year. Life is good, but I miss paintball. I'm hoping to get back into it, perhaps a walk-on game once every two months or so. If I can help my sons spark an interest in the game I think I have a fighting chance of playing on a regular basis again.

My '98 Fox is a staple of my mech herd so yeah I don't think it's going anywhere.

From about 2008 till 2023. I lost interest and sold off pretty much all of my gear to build gaming PC. I was still active on some of the forums/chats till about 2010. I played once around 2018 with a college friend and intended on getting back into it, so I bought some gear. College ended up getting in the way of that. Ended up keeping everything that I had bought.

In 2023, I went to visit a friend down in LA. He had never played before, so I convinced him to. He was unsure about it but then I told him "I want to shoot you and I know damn well you want to shoot me." We ended up going out to SC Village, and even though my weak PNW blood couldn't take the heat, it was just as fun as I remember it being. I was hooked again. While he doesn't play often, he now comes up for Supergame every year.

I used to enjoy your ICD videos.

Do I understand correctly that the Wichita Fox is on your keep forever list? ;-)

Good thing I checked this channel. I was going to start a new thread "Am I the only one?"

To the best of my knowledge I have not actually played since before the turn of the century. Life has a habit of getting in the way. Does posting on MCB count as coming back to paintball? (Long time posters may remember that I have a dozen or two or three guns in various stages of gathering dust.

On the plus side, most of the used guns have held or increased in value. But I feel guilty hoarding the "good stuff... Air Power, ICD, FASTech, Paintball Stuff, AGD, Palmer, Sheridan, etc. Oddly I have never owned a Cocker... does that disqualify me from honorary player status?

If I won mega millions (I don't buy tickets so it seems unlikely) I'd light a few million for sure. Start a league with the rules I like, start a small factory experimenting with ideas, and keep it going for a few years until it inevitably went bankrupt.

There is nowhere left to play here. To get back into it properly I'd need to find land and do it myself... might as well light a few million dollars on fire while I'm at it.
I wonder how many of us have that same dream of lighting millions on fire just to start a field...

Boxed up my gear in 05 once the local scenario scene died out, found it in my garage in '23. I was going to ditch it all but I decided to hit the field again first just to be sure. The mags aired up with no leaks after almost 20yrs and off I went. Just when I thought I was out, they pull me back in!

About 4 years or so. Got hurt bad in a motorcycle accident and was unable to play. All my friends gave it up so I never prioritized getting back into it.

my younger sister was enthusiastic about one of the video game fps games. I said if you think that’s fun try paint ball. She said ok so I dusted off the gear downed many pain meds and took her. Despite my struggles I had fun and my sister was hooked. Played regularly agin for a few years before she too dropped out.

I stopped again for a bit but returned for a couple years. No I play once or twice a year at bug games and am content.

8 years, 2015- 2023. forgot how much fun it was (also paying for college and law school). very much enjoying being back. it is unfortunate that it's not as tight knit as it was back then. I can still recall feeling like a "celebrity" at our local field (badlandz) for having TechPB Mike personal cell number. it just seemed like the industry was more accessible back then, whereas now it has grown into a real sport with real separation between the professional/industry side and the players. I used to spend time hanging out with Damien Ryan and Brad McCurley on tournament weekends at their hotel in Joliet during PSP Chicago and now it feels like there's no universe where a 21 year old kid would get the level of access that I had. glad to be back though, its still as fun of a time!
