    Favorite Regulator ASA and Feedneck?

    Curious about people’s preferences

What is your favorite ________ and why? Anything you don’t like about them? How many do you have?

HPR- Bob Long 360, the schrader valve and clockability are goated. Fitting placement will never be perfect if the vasa and trigger guard are tight. I believe I own 6

ASA- Bob Long Cam Drive, center output and super easy knob, aesthetically minimalist. Replacing a fitting completely can be a bit difficult. I think I own 6

Feedneck- Bob Long Leverlock- toolless adjustment, sharp style. Could have a bigger lever and hex broaching on backside, lever can get ground up by idiot friends borrowing it. I own 5

I obviously have a slanted preference

Aka sidewinder, aesthetically works with everything. Consistent but not the easiest to rebuild if you don't have the right tools.

CP gen 3 reg, fitting at the bottom, easy to rebuild, aesthetically doesn't work with everything.

Inception designs fle feedneck. Sits the lowest, looks the cleanest.

Inception EZ on/off is my preferred. Simple to rebuild and operate. I wish the pin would lock in place instead of pushing to remove the moving piece.
CP on/off the larger dovetail mount one. easy to turn, very simple. don't like the side fitting.

I really like the Inception EZ, but I like throwing a complete setup into the truck and it kept gassing up when I hit bumps lol

Hpr - Cp and its many versions. Cheap simple to work on and not terrible looking

Asa - xsv/sconi low profile duck bill. On offs are just another point of failures mid field. The centered air outlet and slim profile is just way easier to switch hands in a fire fight.

Feed neck - If I'm building something cocker generally CCM.... But this I'm less fussy about

HPR - Evil Detonator just super consistent for me and a good price point when I bought it.
ASA - CP on/off I've always loved CP. Really simple and easy to use.
Feedneck - CCM no-rise hands down the best feedneck I've ever used

Favorite HPR - boring answer, but CP. Nothing else seems to work great on whatever you put it on. I've put them on Spyders, Egos, Cockers, Impulses, its so adaptable.

Feedneck - Hybrid Headloc - I like feednecks that have a little rise to them, and also have a large clamping area so as to not put as much stress on the loader's neck itself, the Hybrid checked all those boxes and also had a great name. It was so good, that when Hybrid Technologies went bust, a bunch of companies immediately made 1:1 copies over in Taiwan (usually sold as Warrior or Trinity feednecks).

ASA - As far as on/off's go, its hard to beat the Eclipse OOPS asa that vents, as well as the DP lever on/off. That one was a game changer for sure. But for my personal guns, I never really cared if it had an on/off at all. So my go to was the Shocktech bullet asa with rail. It put the tank exactly where I wanted it, and for a while ANS was selling them on clearance, for -seriously- $8 a pop, rail and asa with plugs. I bought like 10. Should've bought every one they had lol.

Pictured is my old Angel 1 that had the wonderful Headloc feedneck and the Shocktech asa/rail combo.

In hand I really like the inception design ASA but it's super annoying that it's too easy to gas up by accident. Honestly not a big deal but worth saying. Next favorite will always be the direct mount cp asa.

For feednecks I prefer ones that require a hex tool to lock down so the wgp style is my go to. CCM falls in this category as well being good looking but requires a tool. Not as convenient as hinge style ones but the anno basically never wears off on them so pick your battles.

HPR is inception because of the looks and ease to rebuild. I don't like that it requires "special" o rings but since they are available I can't complain too much. If they ever went under I would not feel the same being unable to buy the correct parts. That's easy to say about any companies products though so 9.5/10 kind of complaint.

I am a sucker for aesthetics, so it varies greatly depending what brand of marker the HPR/ASA/feedneck i supposed to go on. Mostly I prefer to fit parts that are manufactured by the same company, either stock or an upgrade - provided the upgraded part looks as good or better.

Even for those markers that that didn't come with ASA straight out of the box, or markers where it was more or less mandatory to switch the feedneck and the HPR immediately, I usually go for what was used at the time, and what looks the best to my eye.

            For the hypothetical case that I would buy a brand new modern marker where I immediately needed to replace those parts, I guess I would be partial to;

HPR - AKA Sidewinder. Personally I really like the looks of the Sidewinder, and in my experience it is consistent and reliable. The major con would be that they can be a bit tricky and pricey to get in any color other than black.

ASA - Since I am a fan of braided steel hoses, CP on/off ASAs are my go to ASA. They just work, both literally and aesthetically, and they are so easy to rebuild - on the fly if need be. Cons - you're limited to side fittings only.

Feedneck - I'm usually not fussy, as long as it is a clamping feed neck. But for aesthetics I would probably pick the RPG Sub Zero as my favorite. Obvious con - it is expensive and hard to get nowadays.
            Got Bork?

Olsson's WTB - Shut up and take my money!

I really like Sidewinder regs, and the hard to find Bob Long Cam asa is hands down my fav, but i have a few Pops, Cp and ID asa.

I love the original pops. ID works great but it’s easy to activate accidentally

HPR - i like CP. They look good on just about anything & have always performed well for me.

ASA - Dangerous Power RAPS. I also really like Axe/GS/Vanquish on/offs (reg/asa combos count?). I just like bottom flip levers. I love the Syx but i wish they had kept that style of on/off.

Feedneck - i don’t really have a definite preference as long as it’s a lever lock & not super low profile. Thumbwheels are nice to have but not a necessity. I actually used to like twist locks like what came on Wraths.

Sidewinder, or female Stabilizer depending on the set up.

NW on/off ASA with a short drop.

                CCM feedneck.

Reg: Sidewinder for sure, though I agree with Superman, they are not fun to take apart. The swivel is a nightmare to disassemble. Following that, I'd go WGP Ergo. The black ones are harder to find, and they all need to be rebuilt at this point, but they're great regs. I've had a lot of recharge issues with CP regs, so I tend to avoid those.

ASA: POPS is hands down the best, I've never had issues accidentally gassing/degassing them. CP is a good option, but unless you get the mini version they're a bit bulky. Any of the Angel inline on/off and knockoffs (be it Warrior, RAP4, etc) are pretty good too. RAPS can be good, but I've seen way too many that have a 50/50 chance of slicing the sealing o-ring every time you gas up.

Feedneck: I don't have much of an opinion here. As long as it has a lever, I'm going to be happy. I think the only one I've used that I didn't like was CP, but I think mine was a lemon.

Reg: Macdev Gladiator V2. I've gotten +-3 fps using them on multiple different markers. They also have a notoriously fast recharge rate and are easy to take apart.

ASA: New Designz. They're buttery smooth, look good, and degas.

Feedneck: Trinity. They just clamp so nicely.
