Over on the Guild, I've been working on the semi-famous "Monsoon" Rainmaker. First one I've had on the table in many, many years, and as I was tinkering with it, I realized just how bad the breech geometry is.

And that's with the flattest face bolt I could make for it. The big open "ported" bolts make that even worse. And thanks to the way the bolt is set up, I can't just make it longer like you can in a 'Cocker or a Ego or something. So I took a page from my old Angel Dynabolts to make an extension, and improved the breech geometery significantly:

It'll need a custom wire detent to go with it- I'm working on those too- but I'd all but guarantee it'll noticeably reduce chopping and feed issues. The guys I installed Dynabolts for (early Angels) frequently told me they went from 3-4 breaks per game to 3-4 breaks per season.
My question is... would it be worth making a run of these? Does anyone still shoot Rainmakers? And if I did make a run, how big? 20? 50? 100? 2,000?
I still need to finish this one and test it properly- and I may be interested in borrowing a functional mostly stock RM for more testing- but if there's interest I'll make a run.
Doc.
