I have a set of 5 Dye lock pods that arrived in a bulk purchase. I have one set that I use and love. Are these a thing of the past for most people or do people still use them. I will be looking to put them up for sale. I will sell either purple or smoke depending on which I decide to keep.
Dye Lock Pods? Still used?

Some people use the lids for the Winchester hopper mod. 😉I have a set of 5 Dye lock pods that arrived in a bulk purchase. I have one set that I use and love. If they fit in your pack good and you like the extra capacity and the ability to have the button. Then you probably will enjoy them.

I hate those things! I lost so much paint with them I threw a bunch out. It cost me so much money in paint back in the day. Fast forward today they work great for modified 50 round hoppers kind of wish I kept the lids that tossed the pods.Comment

I purchased a 6 pack and eventually regretted it.
1) the lids don't actually lock as the name implies. It's just your standard compression fit
2) the lid assembly is not glued on. I had multiple times when I reached around to grab a pod and a lid was all I had in my hand a moment later
3) I had 2 that didn't want to open, you would press the button and nothing, these two I had to learn to smack on the side of my hopper to pop them open, spilling paint in the process
Capacity and storage issues as already noted
I have 2 left, they store my reballs at home

Always seemed like a cool idea, but the Dye Alpha pods I think make more sense. Or even the Maddog clone which are more readily available and in more colors. 150 round, same lid as the Alpha.Comment

Great in my tac vest, terrible in my pod pack.
I like the capacity, especially with my high capacity Rotor, and the button, it's easy to tell if they're closed or not.
In my pod pack they get stuck and I've had the 5+ season ones pop open on me on occasion after some hard bumps. I dumped a few in that pack and went back to my newer GXG pods, but honestly I've dumped a couple of them too.
Now I just cobble together what I have and what I've pillaged from the field and hope for the best.Comment

I use them as my pods. They fit my needs and come in colors I like. I play mainly with Revvy and VL-200.
I typically fill 4 pods of paint. One pod with microfiber and squeegee. One pod with keys, wallet and phone. They fit in my critical paintball pack well.Comment

Old school, like a boss
Maybe you have one of these on the way in the mail, or maybe you don't, who's to say?
I just use the cheap ANS $2 pods these days. They are cheap enough that if I leave one on the field, Ehh, may not be worth going to get depending on the field

My pod of choice, but haven’t bought a pod in well over a decade. Still want to pick us a set of skull pods and stick googly eyes on them eventually.Comment
