    first strike nerds

    Hey,

I'm thinking about making an outlaw first strike setup for my kids and I.

That is, several matching guns to shoot each other with FSR

I am looking for a lower cost but high quality first strike compatible gun that will make play fun and easy and reliable an accurate.

    What do you guys reccomend?

The idea is that I'd enjoy everyone getting to be better marksman and shooting less and that I can't easily get good paint and I know almost all FSR is excellent.

Just an idea. Let me know your thoughts!

Make a bunch of single shot PGP 12g compatible cheap and they shoot FS great.

There are quite a few options…

You can make a PGP FSR compatible pretty cheap, but there’s some work to it. (Torch the top tube off, and open open up the feed…you may also want to find a Speed Demon or similar “center fire” bolt since you can damage the fins of the FS with it being rim fire.

I did a Diablo pump once and it was super easy and worked well. Just knock the feedneck off and shape the feed hole to accept FSR

You can also do it with a phantom (make it a bolt action is easiest) They work really well too.

You can also take a standard marker and just muzzle load it…depends on how far down the rabbit hole you want to go.

Pretty much any pump marker can be converted to take single load FSR with some minimal modification. Like Chucky and Nick mentioned, PGPs are a great option, but there's some work involved. For what it's worth Chucky was killing it against dedicated magfed setups at my magfed game a couple months back so they're def. good contenders. You could also go the cheap route and find some inexpensive pump markers and a dremel and just carve it up. Impactfour has been putting ideas in my head about a FSR Tigershark...

Not that this answers your questions but I've always wanted to make sideloading enmey to shoot first strikes.

I’d say old traccers are your best bet. Easily modified for fs single shot , adjustable bolts (often),run off CO2 and HPA without modification, and can be had for under 100$ regularly.

The absolute best bet is the later empire traccer 2, first strike compatible out of the box, autococker threaded (unlike its proprietary threaded older brother traccer 1). Only downside is they are harder to find and command a higher price around 150$ and up.

Slightly annoyed that I sold my Trracer 2.

But the pump arm was SO wobbly. The whole thing felt plasticky and low quality.

The cheapest official out of the box FS gun is the TPX. Otherwise you need to jump up to the EMF100, which is the same one pretty much everyone uses.

Dont you have to buy the "long range" kit for the TIPX for it to be FS compatable ?

You don’t have to. You can either buy the Exalt breach or you can modify the stock one. You can also “square off” the stock TiPX mags to feed FSR.

Seems like single loading old tracer is the best way to go to not spend too much. Too bad the empire new Tracer and the kingman pump are both like rare now.

                  Or no modification.
You can definitely muzzle-load the things, and I used to play scenarios by removing my Phantom's barrel to load FS rounds; I had a J&J barrel with the ACME threads, so it was like 2 turns and the thing was off/on.
