    PB Nation dead...?

A reader mentioned PB Nation on another board, and I hadn't checked in a long time. Last I did basically only the "news" section had anything that was, at the time, newer than three months or so. Just looked, and it's stuffed full of link spam, going back at least a month.

Doesn't seem to be any effort to clean it up, and I can't even see a post anywhere where anyone's complaining about it.

So I guess we can assume PBN is dead-dead?

Pretty much the BST is a lil more active. But it’s been a ghost town for years now. Pretty much a cancer that ate itself as soon as Social Media took over.

PBN is dead and FB is zuckin' people, including myself this weekend, for selling markers and parts on the groups. I have a feeling MCB and PBN will be more active in a year.

It’s a bummer because it’s still full of good information. Lots of the pictures were lost with Photobucket’s demise. I wish we could back that up here.

Is MCB the only paintball-related forum that actually has life left in it anymore? SCP's main page looks to be over a decade without any updates, forum long gone. PBN, still up but dead. PaintballForum, still up but dead. CustomCockers has a main page, but forum is gone. I'm sure the list goes on and on

With regular updates and active members outside of BookFace. Yup only one that is actually paintball friendly and searchable.

Well, there's also Reddit. Not that I'm suggesting it or anything, but it exists.

I wholeheartedly agree with that statement.

If I don't find some obscure fact about a paintball marker here on MCB, I usually check PBN. Quite a number of times I will find the answer there - although the info will be in a thread that is at least 15-25 years old.

So while PBN most definitely is abandoned, it isn't dead. Yet.

i remember a post titled "overview of all spyders ever made" with pictures and details that was pretty conclusive. always wished mcb had that.

Yep. Those are the exact type of threads at PBN that I have appreciated over the years.

I would like that for virtually every marker here at MCB. Unfortunately I am way to lazy to man up myself.

I just had a look and all the latest posts are spam and coupon codes

I guess that there are no moderators left over there.

It's a sad end to a once thriving community.

PBN has been like this for a few years now. All the more reason the keep MCB alive and funded. Spend the few extra bucks here & get lifetime a membership.

I need PBN to stay up so I can continue referencing these two threads.

                https://www.pbnation.com/showthread.php?t=3801062

                https://www.pbnation.com/showthread.php?t=3137344

Those two threads are litteraly all I really use PBN for any more.

There are old threads there that I have saved with discussions with the big name Spyder boys from 20+ years ago. Sadly few pictures remain, but good information can still be found. I was able to find info on a prototype Spyder board I have.

While PBN is hardly active, I'm glad it is still up. And as someone mentioned, Facebook is throwing a lot of people in time out/deleting posts, has been happening to me as well, and lots of angry people have been talking about going back to PBN and MCB

This is the only thread that still has some activity. Pretty cool that Jack Wood sometimes drops in and comments as well as some other industry experts. We had John from Method posting until someone compared the new Aire grips they designed to the DSR and he left. I posted a picture of the two side by side and he got mad about it. But, he will come back though. They all eventually post again. I have suggested they move the thread here since it's actually active but they all want to keep it running there until someone pulls the plug on PBN.

I do post once in a while over there too... I actually joined that place in April of 2001, so older than MCB honestly. It's what popped up after paintballcity.com became paintballdojo for some reason and everything went sideways. PBN popped up as the answer and we all joined. So I"m one of the first 1000 members and OG over there. 25 years is a heck of a run, but sadly it's all spam now and it probably isn't worth porting or updating.

Could that information somehow be saved here on MCB, for paintball posterity? It'd be a real shame to lose all of that
