Cockers, Spyders, Mags. In about that order IMHO.
Spyder "upgrades" were always the most fascinating, as they ran the gambit from practical to ridiculous and having a few usually cost more than the marker.Velcor will save us...

Autocockers hands down. Tons of variety was available from lots different brands for every part needed to build one, plus plenty of parts are still available now.
But any commonly used platform from the late 1990s through early 2000s at some point had a ton of “upgrades” available.
That was half the fun. One of the first “high end “ markers I had was a Dye LCD Matrix and I remember drooling over different LPRs, Triggers, trigger frames, bolts, Boards, etc....

I think cockers are the front runner, but before guns were massively streamlined (gas-thru trigger frames, stock clamping feednecks, adjustable boards, etc.) almost all guns had an impressive array of upgrades. From Starfire bolts to huge expansion chambers to purely cosmetic trash, we had it all!💀 PK x Ragnastock 💀

Hmm, surprised no one has mentioned Autocockers yet. Then I think Tippmanns (A-5 or 98s) and then good old Ions.
Tippmanns definitely have most most random crap as add ons. Body kits, fake mags, barrel covers, cyclone upgrades, power tubes, bolts, hammer the list goes on.
Ions basically let you buy a stock Ion and then replace every single part of it. Bodies, boards, trigger frames, bolts etc, etc.

In order not to repeat autococker or Ion
I would say CCI Phantom, not for upgrade but for the amount of options you have to build it
Air : back bottle, bucket grip, read bucket charger, drop changer
Body: vert feed, stock class 10 or 15, right feed
pump: standard, under cocking and all the custom options
color: acid was, solid color
plastic color: standard plus acrylic color option
stock: L, T💀Team Ragnastock💀

Cockers hands down. You can build something so completely custom and unique there would be nothing else like it. Mags and Ions (sorry mag owners you probably won't like being mentioned in the same line as an Ion) would round out my top 3
I do have an Ion 100% built from aftermarket parts.Last edited by Junglepeanut; 02-09-2021, 12:27 PM.

Cockers and mags for sure, they are the only ones that you can run mech, electro and pump using bolt on parts. There's also private lable companies around them
Probably spyder after that, they had/have mods that actually do stuff
The problem I have with putting tippmann in this list is about 90% of the "upgrades" are just cosmetics and then after that a lot of the stuff like bolts can actually work worse than what is stock

Autococker, Spyder, Tippmann 98 and a5, Mag.
The Tippmann 98 and A5 may supercede the spyder its hard because I don't keep track of all the milsim crap. So I kinda agree with Trbo323 here, but there are a lot of upgrades for the cyclone feed and other functional parts, whether they work better than stock is debatable but that is the same with autococker and spyder upgrades too.

Autocockers definitely have had the greatest variety of available "upgrades", but there might be a greater variety of available Spyder parts out there because of the dozens (hundreds?) of different clones and variants produced over the decades. Whether putting an Enigma LPC and Bruzier grip frame on an E-Rex body counts as an "upgrade" is a matter up for debate.
