Crossfire Stealth Regulator Rebuild: O-Ring Sizes and Ball Seat Identification

    Hey guys,

I'm hoping someone here might have some old Crossfire Stealth regulator knowledge tucked away.

I'm rebuilding a couple of the old Crossfire Stealth regulators and was fortunate enough to find some original, unused rebuild kits that I've had sitting around for years. I've already rebuilt one using the original parts, but I'd really like to identify the components so I can put together some replacement kits for future maintenance.

The original rebuild kit contains two O-rings and a polymer ball seat.

I broke out my calipers and carefully measured the unused components. Here's what I came up with:

    Larger O-ring (upper piston):
    • Outside diameter: .500"
    • Inside diameter: .385"
    • Cross-section: .077"

    Smaller O-ring (lower piston):
    • Outside diameter: .255"
    • Inside diameter: .178"
    • Cross-section: .035"

    Regulator ball seat:
    • Diameter: .125" (1/8")
    • Polymer material, exact composition unknown

The smaller O-ring appears very close to a metric 4.5 × 1 mm ring. The larger one is a little more puzzling. Its OD is close to an AS568-012, but the other dimensions don't quite agree.

I also reached out to Tim at Paintball Tek, who was kind enough to respond while traveling. Going from memory, he thought the upper piston O-ring might be an AS568-013 in 90 durometer, with the lower being a small metric ring, possibly 8 × 1 mm. He was going to check his old notes when he got home.

Given that Crossfire was associated with Flare Fittings, and my recollection is that they generally used off-the-shelf components whenever possible, I'm hoping these are standard parts that someone here might recognize.

    Does anyone happen to know:
    1. The actual replacement sizes for the two Stealth regulator O-rings?
    2. The correct Buna-N durometer for each?
    3. What material the 1/8" polymer regulator ball seat was made from, and whether an equivalent is still available?
    4. Would the polymer regulator ball used in Ninja regulators work as a replacement for the Crossfire Stealth ball? Has anyone actually tried this, or can anyone confirm whether the dimensions, material, hardness, and sealing characteristics are compatible?

I'm particularly interested in the Ninja ball because it may offer a readily available replacement if the original Crossfire parts are no longer obtainable. I don't want to assume that matching diameters automatically means the two are interchangeable.

I'd especially like to hear from anyone who used to rebuild these regulators or still has original Crossfire parts or service documentation.

I've got the regulators rebuilt with the original parts, so there's no immediate emergency. I'm just trying to document the correct components and make sure I can continue maintaining these old things.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, guys!
