MOTM March - Custom - Two Submissions Again

Last month we saw small batch markers, so lets go full custom this month! High end, low end, and everything in between. Did you get your gun milled or anodized or did you start with something standard and switch everything out until you put together the ultimate Cocker/Spyder/Mag/Rainmaker/Whatever? Show us the goods x 2! If you are feeling frisky, give us a little story to outline how much hard work went into the build.

Started as a Pre-Series 5 body by Bill Holstein.
Has been milled for dual wire detents, mini'd, and p-blocked.
Barrel Milled for Freak XL inserts.
Nice Tan Brown and Black Ano
Mostly Shocktech/BBT Parts.

Hey! scottieb is entering Spyders! Who would've guessed? 😀

I turned one of my Spyders into a VM68. This is a black, one hole Spyder Compact with Kit's horizontal air adapter, Pro-Line "add on" expansion chamber bits, stainless Dye barrel, stainless line, TASO humpback frame with rubber grips, RVA, forward facing air, and gas through stock. This is a really fun marker.





This is a custom Bob Long Millennium. It has a nice splash with lots of matching bits.

The gun with no name

This started life as a Pgp2k. I torched off, shortened and slotted the feed tube. Put it over the barrel back to add enough meat to drill and tap side tube style with a phantom reverse feed block. Drilled for a spyder detent under the block as well. Then sent it to Walz for a transfer port enlargement and the single action inspired sights. Got my hands on a sergison k-frame and some walnut conversion grips, then installed the replica rattlesnake palm swells which I backed with epoxy putty for extra hold.

The Long Barrel PGP.

Heavily modified PGP2K built by TyMcneer for me. Rebarreled in thick walled .678 with dual spiral porting and a new delrin bolt to match. 12 round sidetube, spring-fed, with brass hardware. Brass K-Frame, PPS DynaValve with some additional valve work by Stuffy. Finished in two-tone with a dust body and a polished frame (Could really use some brasso haha). About the only thing they didn't do was fit a dropout changer. Weighs a ton and is dead silent.

Well I forgot about the rule that you have to still own the gun... Otherwise I'd have WAAAAAY more to choose from. But here is entry #1 for me, My Carter Duck with custom "Iced Damascus" paintjob. I also had a custom barrel made for it. Did the paint myself, took several hours of vinyl work but it turned out awesome in the end.

This was my early-quarantine project and the only gun I have that’s not for sale. Files and sandpaper turned an 03 pro stock into a poor mans FLE.

Here is my contribution:

I tracked down Tony Elia to mill a raw Superstock body after drooling over Round Body Merlins and other JMJ work. Then I pulled most everything off of a Karni and bolted it on to the Superstock. Karni frame didn't work because of where the 3-way's wire had to travel so I swapped back in an E2 frame. Finally, it got a little Tequila Sunrise fade
