I know not everyone follows what the tournament teams are doing but in big news Dynasty dropped HK Army and signed a deal with JT to sponsor the team in a six figure deal. Pretty major news for JT. Looks like they're staging a comeback and it's exciting to see new JT products coming out. I'm sure kevin qmto will be stoked at least.

I find the quality of HK items to be suspect, so that's probably a smart move. When I heard they dropped HK I thought they might start manufacturing more gear themselves.-
HK is a branding and marketing company that makes virtually nothing themselves, so it's pretty hit or miss from one product line to the next. I've had one of their basic pod packs and pods for about a year with no complaints. Same goes for their basic Aerolite 68/4500 HPA tank.
But I have seen/heard a lot of people complain about some of their other soft goods such as gloves and pants.

Heck I just paid $75 for a limited edition goggle strap from JT so I'm sure they get enough suckers to buy $5 straps for $75 and life is good. The swag is worth it, just ask Sandana.Comment

I've been using nothing but JT masks the last... 20 years? I think the CMD I just bought is the first non JT mask I have ever bought new. I was more wondering if I'd missed something new or not. Nope, nothing new unfortunately. Hard to blame JT for not coming out with anything new. Seems like any new mask they release gets hated on and they just go back to making the same old proflex.Comment

Here's another bombshell, paint might be reduced to something like 1400 or 1600 rounds per case. Also the NXL is considering a rule to limit paint to 3-5 pods per player. Still all rumor so nothing in stone yet.Comment

They did trials of limited paint format in the Millennium (m500). I think it was pretty well received with some interesting rules (players had set paint but could move it around amongst themselves/etc.). Not sure if the NXL would bring that verbatim but one of the points pushing it is that it would also force faster pace (and "more exciting") games for spectators.
Some places around the country already sell smaller count boxes, been around long enough to remember paying out the ass for a 2K round case of garbage so its either drop the count which I think is stupid or raise the price. The current economic constraints come for us all in the end.Comment

Why did JT drop them in the first place? Was it a GI Sportz acquiring KEE decision or Dynasty's decision?
Also, I've been hearing that case ball count drop/price increase rumor for a while now. I think one company (Kore or Valken) is going to have to make the leap first, and I dont see that happening any time soon.
I just wish they'd make good quality paint again, and I think a 3000 round case would be perfect, but what do I know.Comment

Long story, but I'll try to make it short. You must remember that Dynasty was a JT team from 2001-08. But JT was only a sub company of Brass Eagle at the time, so really Dynasty was a Brass Eagle team. BE was on hard times in 07 and 08, they themselves were sold from K2 to Jarden Corporation, and sales were way down for all of BE's brands, from JT, to WGP, to VL. They were out of money to sponsor a high dollar pro team like dynasty, so when their contract was up at the end of 2008, they were easily outbid by KEE Action Sports, and thus Dynasty became an Empire team from 2009-14.Originally posted by ATBen View Post

KEE themselves were bought by GI Sportz in 2015, but by that point, Dynasty had already left KEE for HK. So I doubt it was because of anything GI did.Comment

My cousin sent me Ryan Greenspan's Instagram video 2 days ago with this news. I was like "OMG, new Angels?!" Nope, lol.
Let's hope GI/JT steps it up. It's GI though, so I don't have high hopes. I just want them to make decent straps again. The current ones are not good.Comment
