JT Triad looks interesting, but more of the same!

Badlands is the largest distributor of JT paintball products in Canada, and is your best choice if you are looking for JT paintball hopper.

I'm considering getting a better loader for next season, to use with my fastest guns ( my gen-e matrix, shocker 4x4 )

This new JT loader is kind of cool looking, and the included speedfeed is a nice touch.

However, I was hoping to see swappable different sized loader shells , like it's predecessor the Viewloader Tripod had . A smaller shelled (maybe 100-140 rnd) motorized loader for pump players, or limited paint players who want a smaller loader profile is something the market consistently fails to deliver.

An insert to make this loader .50 cal compatible would have been of interest to me as well.

But for now the high price for more of the same on the loader market, and lack of features that would be of interest to me, makes me consider other options

Ooof, the maple leaf tax strikes again. The Triads are only 150 here in the states, which make them an extremely competitive option since they come with a spring ramp and speed feed already as part of the loader.

I agree, swappable noses would've been nice, similar to the Prophecy platform (or even GI LVL's). We may yet see that in the future though.

I do like the idea of them, and will likely pick one up from my local shop when they get them in (already confirmed they're on order). One button on/off is nice as it's hard to hit the toggle on my Z2 with gloves on, as well as the internal lock vs an external shell lock. "True" force fed is nice, but keep in mind they only rate this to 15bps, again geared towards modern rulesets. If you really want a fast hopper, the OG Rotors or VLocity's are hard to beat.

Another "new" hopper to look at is the HK Sonic. Essentially an update to the Pinokio Speed platform, it's a Speed in a TFX-style shell, or, in my mind, an Eggy done right. Should be under the 100USD mark, so might be something that interests you. A little birdy told me they're going on sale later today.

Wha? This is the first I've heard of it. Gonna have a look now, lol. If it's got a weight lower than the other offerings at that price point I'll definitely have to consider it.

Oh yeah glaman5266, HK didn't really push it too hard, but it's going for sale this afternoon. One 9v, supposed to be really light. 99USD.

No pictures of the internals, which is disappointing. Badlands has their usual markup on things as these are $150 USD at US retailers. Is this going to be better that Spire IRs and Dye LTRs? Weโ€™ll have to see.

So this may sound strange but i am not a fan of how they did the batteries I have a couple Rotors, and a couple CTRL loaders and the fact that i can take a Virtue rechargeable battery pack use it with all of them or use a standard battery pack is nice in my opinion. The way that that loader is designed added a lot of cost that did not need to be there. That whole battery "pack" built into the circuit board will make a replacement board a lot more expensive. That whole loader is one break or bad battery away from being replaced. I applaud that they are trying to come out with new loaders but do they need to reinvent the wheel on everything yet keep it so similar to the rest of the market?

zinger565 you are right I was just hoping that this trend did not make it's way into paintball, I thought we had missed it and held out hope that it would keep going that way.
I think you could easily de-solder all the connectors, figure out the end point and solder in a ncharge or the connector for one and be good to go, double sided tape it in etc, I just know that a large majority of players would just throw them away and that should not be a mentality that is promoted.

To play devil's advocate here, we don't know how robust these boards are. For all we know they could be near indestructible. We don't know yet. My factory Revolution & BKO boards work just fine all these years later, so...

Hopefully they're built to last, because as you said it'd likely be more expensive to replace than other loader boards.

You make a good point I am not counting on it failing, I just see where it could fail and be a lot more expensive, kind of like with a rotor ($25) vs a Virtue Spire IV ($61) it is more expensive because there is a lot more going on with the board.
Like you said though it could be indestructible and one of the best loaders to come out in years, we shall have to see once we have some real world testing.

I was very iffy on this loader, and the things it offers at a lower price point than the current high-end offerings made me a little suspect of the quality. I mean, why would you price it that low when others push $200? I'm still not sold on it.

However, after thinking about it for a while, if the quality is there it could be VERY competitive in the high end market. Could this be sort of the Ion of the loader market that will push higher end features into lower cost loaders? I'm not sure, but we will see. If the quality is there that's a lot of loader for the buck when factoring in a (potentially) better locking system and an included speedfeed & spring ramp, especially considering that you have to buy all of those things separately for Virtue loaders.

Isn't Dynasty supposed to be rocking these? I don't imagine they'd tolerate using a POS loader.

Awe that is sweet you think Dynasty wouldn't go with whatever loader sponsors them as long as it works and they get money from the company!

Yeah I have no doubt the only reason they are using this loader over the modicum of other loaders these players have access to is because they're paid to do so. My point is that it must meet some decent performance and reliability standards before JT sends it out to their flagship team. Not saying that it's the highest performance or even best value for the money, just that shouldn't be a complete flop.

The JT looks a lot like the CTRL / Spire in the second image. I love my Rotor, but my CTRL is so freaking easy to take apart compared to the Rotor. Both are years ahead of the GI loader though.

Damn, looks like they've been delayed. ProEdgePB.com updated their product page showing an early January ship time, which also means it's probably my local shop won't get theirs in until then as well.

Yeah, eyes and sound activation. Should be really fast out of the gate, no stuttering.

This looks more like a reduce drivecone prophecy than a rotor which will let it be smaller At the expense of speed that is no longer needed. I like it, I hope itโ€™s good

After seeing what the Adrenaline guys could get out of it I'm very interested in picking one up next year. It seems to be the modern evolution of the Halo/Prophecy that sacrifices all out speed for paint handling and consistency.

My thoughts as well. It's gonna be really interesting to pit this side-by-side with my z2, the new HK Sonic, and something "high end" like a Spire, CTRL, or R2.

I respect the rotor hold outs because 90 percent of ballers were hardcore for the rotor and the love vanished overnight. They are great but have that jam possibility so I take the complexity of the z2 and prophecy over it when it comes to actual speed.

The new jt loader is trying to make the more complicated system seem simpler by making it into a few easy to handle modules.

bummed on the battery configuration. not a huge fan on the tray style virtue used on the spires either. break a ball and you have to clean that little tunnel spot out is the worst. Virtue thought the spire was the best thing out there and i still out shot them. I'd give it a day of play but likely still end up back at a rotor.

I'm thinking I'll pull the trigger on one of these as well. I outshoot my Spire IV pretty easily with my M170R, and was looking to scoop up a R2, but wanted to wait to see if Dye dropped anything new before I did.
