If they dropped a mech piloted geo, I'd be inclined to take a peekLast edited by BrickHaus; 06-04-2024, 10:28 PM.

"Innovation" in paintball these days is limited to extremely minor drivetrain tweaks that make no real difference to the end user. So unless they release something drastic, I'll pass.
Like... I wouldn't say no to an EMFGEO. Like a higher end EMF100 with electro guts (so you could have triple burst, auto, etc.)
Odds of that happening are somewhere close to zero.

I suspect that if they included burst fire and other electronic firing modes, it could cause feed issues with the magazine feed.. But... I bet it wouldn't be impossible to DIY it. I've got a solenoid, board and frame from a OG gtec. that I'm never going to use again.

One benefit of an electro is eyes. The DAM made a basic design error by relying on speedball style low breech eyes to handle the feed from the boxrotor, so it wasn't surprising to see the issues that arose. Balls were registering as ready when they're only halfway in.
So long as the eyes on a magfed are either upper breech (if it's magfed only) or mid breech or (best) both upper and lower, you should be able to get good reliability.

I thought they sold pretty well... Until you compare them with the gamma core markers that came after.
The Etek line requires more parts than a Gamma core marker, requires maintenance to shoot right and if someone doesn't know what they're doing can get noodled with too much.
Along with the LCD upgrade I wonder if they had other upgrades planned for the platform that never made it...

Can you elaborate? As far as I can tell, they've moved a bumper and increased the shot chamber volume. It also looks like they left some potential efficiency on the table by not filling more of the volume behind the bolt with the tip of the propshaft, although maybe they were trying to minimize the weight and maximize the response speed of said propshaft.

@iamthelazerviking
How much difference will this make to the end user?
What numbers are we talking % wise for efficiency gains, maintenance cycles etc?
Because "redesigned the whole system" is like "ten times more widgetty doodads" - it means jack all unless there's tangible improvements to the actual end user experience.
