poppet? Hmm. interesting given that 99% of the market are basically spool clones (no pun intended?) I loved my 06 Cyborg.

Out of my price range all around, but if you look at the Macdev BST it is a lot of "'Borg when?" For them to announce such a small run.

The new Cyborg will be produced in a limited edition of just 200 units. It will be available exclusively through our authorized dealers. Moreover, all customers who have purchased a marker from the X series will be eligible to pre-order the new Cyborg one week before its official launch date.
Doesn't Rolex pull antics like this?

Only 200 units doesn't bode well for spare parts or support in my mind, but look, I am a grinch when it comes to MacDev. I hope the release goes well.

It's been going on in PB for a while with limited releases of JT Proflex, Hormesis headbands, etc. But you're right: a whole marker platform can be problematic. Even for finding proprietary grips and basic things like that down the line (if it uses its model specific parts.)

MD's standard production runs are 400-500 units globally. A 200 unit Cyborg run isn't that small/limited by that standard.

Understanding it's niche manufacturing, but there are tons of cyborg fan boys that would purchase another. Why the manufactured scarcity?

Only 200 units. I have mixed feelings about this.
Do they not feel confident it will sell? Maybe not enough changes from previous models?
How many colours will they make? 40 of 5 colours
    $$ hmm $1100?
if it sells fast would they do another run?

Hope they do well with this

I'm highly confident it won't resemble the Cyborg 6...that was 10 years and multiple platforms/generations ago.

      $1100? It's not 2010 anymore, man.

I have had nothing but trouble from my sons Prime XTS. You couldnt give me this gun if it has the quality of the Prime. Just my opinion though.

No offense, but if you can't make an XTS run then I don't know what to tell you. They are as simple and intuitive as they come.

      What kind of issues?

If the 16x2 oring is even slightly dry, it wouldnt run. It was super picky with orings also, some 16x2 would work and some just wouldnt. The soldered battery terminals had a cold joint from the get go. This would cause the marker to auto shutoff after playing with it for a few pods during practice. The soldered on battery terminal with the cold joint also has zero stress prevention along the board and wire to prevent the wire from breaking at the solder joint over repeated battery installs and removals. (I remove batteries after each time i use the markers) The sole screw on the backside of the grip was cross threaded out the box. For a marker that I bought on its release for the price I paid, I was instantly turned off. I bought it because I had heard a ton of great reviews about their other markers. Sadly, my experience with the XTS turned me away. Never had any problems with the 4 PE markers I have nor the Luxe TM40 I replaced the XTS with. Like I said though. Its just my opinion.

This announcement reads to me as if they're selling 200 of them to be "beta tested" After that they'll make changes and do a final release.

Is there any specific price point on these? I checked the MacDev website but didn't see any more info.

Booooo @ 200. We need a poppet on the market that doesn't have chunky ass grips like the LV2. Still waiting for the G7R but I have a feeling I'll see Half-Life 3 before that happens.

200 is probably the size of the addressable market for a new non-PE/Dye high end marker in 2024, so, no surprise there.

What is there to do on a new cyborg? I thought they already did the hoseless shtick

they could bring back the enclosed top bolt like the RX, but I literally can’t think of another reason to do another revision other than creating some collector’s items

Perhaps in this generation they replace the poppet with a gamma core! Flip the script.

ford don’t give them ideas, it would be so easy to add a top tube, transfer hole and a spyder bolt

Replace the ram and poppet with a gamma core kit, and have a redundant top tube bolt

I guess that’s one way to solve the mech poppet problem with dwell.

The Cyborg 6 was a flawed product. The transducers were poorly spec'd, the subplate + upper board layout is less than ideal, and the pilots of that era were inconsistent. And at this point it's a 10 year old marker.

I suspect the Cyborg X will pull over the grips and electronics from the GTX. There will be no transducers and, thus, none of the complexities that come with them. I'll be curious to see which route they choose to go with the LPR, ram cartridge and valve arrangement. It should be a shorter (height), simpler, more robust package than the C6 was.
