It is interesting that basically now all of the spool valved markers for sale from the major players (PE, Dye, DLX/SP) are (at least in part) John Chambers's designs.

Also, I'm going to be pedantic, but Lithium Iron phosphate (LiFePO4) batteries ARE still part of the Lithium-ion battery family. The word "Lithium-ion" doesn't refer to just one type of battery, but to a family of batteries using different chemistries. Usually when people talk about "Lithium-ion" batteries, they are referring to the first commercialized chemistry from John B. Goodenough, Lithium cobalt oxide (LiCoO2). Admittedly, Lithium cobalt oxide does have some serious dangers/risk, and all of the points Hans mentions about Lithium Iron phosphate vs Lithium cobalt oxide are correct.
      I can haz feedback?
If I owe you feedback, just remind me, as I sometimes forget.

I wonder if you can feel that reciprocating mass... probably not. probably...

also, cue the 'open bolt', 'closed bolt', 'primer switched' debate.

All my take away from this is that the idol bombed so hard they had to release this year later.

I don't know I've never been a huge luxe fan I had a Gen 2 into me it shot no better than your basic sft shocker however it did talk at you.

Hasn't Luxe has been on a yearly release schedule for 3? years?

I think it's interesting that there's hardly anything Smart Parts left about the Luxe anymore. No Shocker engine anymore, PWR inserts instead of freak, and now cocker threaded. End of an era I suppose.

Is it replacing the Idol or is it a new line they're starting?

It's replacing the Idol and is their new marker. Per usual, DLX sells a single high end marker, with the mid-end being reserved for SP.

Looks like they shortened it up. I always liked how the luxe was longer. All the top manufacturers are becoming very similar in form.

It would be awesome if we could get the paint to take advantage of all the engineering that goes into these new markers.

Look at the room between the frame and front grip. I don't see this marker as being shorter in length, the frame has just been moved rearward and the foregrip shape has changed a little to create more thumb room.

Looking at it again, maybe you’re right. Interested to see a side-by-side comparison. I been eyeing those dragons scale, adrenaline luxe with the mech frames the purple ones are sick. Hopefully the price comes down a lil bit now that there are new ones coming out.

I’m curious if the new engine is heavily based on the old shocker engine. Just refined and optimized to modern standards.

Doubtful... It's likely a cooy of the gamma core which can run mech

It's not a copy of the gamma. It's a completely new engine. Sure, it has touches of gamma/arc, but that's because the same guy designed all of these bolts.

It's not a balanced spool, nor is it a "Gamma copy" any longer. It is a new drive with ARC and Gamma DNA, but it's a novel concoction of concepts.

It's basically an ARC core from the DSR/MXR with a new way to cycle the bolt.

I'm completely on board for this thing. I've been told it shots a lot like the MXR which is my favorite shot, but it doesn't have the stupid eye/TAC issues the MXR has.

I'm curious what Adrenaline has in store for this as it's already shaping up to be a badass shooter.

Honestly I really don’t care who makes it as long as it shoots good and is reliable. This looks more shocker profile than Luxe.

Something I really liked about the luxe was its length it was more spread out between the front and rear grip. It let you grip the marker super close to the barrel line. This added with the length and swept back grip made it very natural to shoot. They changed the one thing that set the luxe apart IMO. Granted I haven’t held one so maybe they improved the ergo. But I think they changed my favorite part about the luxe. Then again I’m not there target audience and maybe that’s not what everyone wants nowadays. But I loved my early luxe it was such a natural shooter I use to rip corner runners apart with it off the break.

Honestly it’s my biggest hold up with new markers is the paint. We are splitting hairs at the top level over engineering the hell out of these things only to be forced to feed them garbage paint. I’m not against innovation but at what point are we just spinning our wheels making new products just to make them. I guess if people are still buying them then have at it. I’m surprised to see all the new markers coming out how much of the market can they hold to support itself.

Actually the current paint is only .175" away from being .50 if the trend continues.
