More reliability? But I thought the printed v2 was perfect and was said it wouldn't have any issues?

Glad I went with v1 if reliability was something that they felt needed improving going from v2 to v3

      More plastic…. Nah I’m good.

I just serviced my V1 just cleaned it because it wasn’t quite as fast. If they are claiming better reliability it’s BS because they couldn’t have tested the V3 or V2 long enough to make that claim. They made it out of plastic to reduce manufacturing cost not because it’s better.

The v1 was a huge a improvement over the stock and flew off the shelves.
The FLE3 stock valve got a lot closer to the v1 hair, to the point that hair valve sales fell off dramatically. It was a bit slower and stiffer but included and easy to care for and reliable.
I do think the v2 hair was excellent, I am sure the v3 is a minor improvement.

But the stock valve is much better than it was at the start. You have to really want the fastest performance to go for the hair valve now. The v3 seems like a good update to the v2, an upgrade without a price increase. I might grab one to test and report back.

I'd be interested to hear about it

For me, when I was deciding I found a cut away of the v2 and as soon as I saw a section where they had an o ring sealing against the plastic body I went, nope and ordered the v1

I have the V1 in one of my modded emeks and I have the stock valve with Simons pin in the other stock emek. They are so close in feel that its impossible for me to tell which one is which without the fact that one of them has been modded for a double trigger.

The original stock valve was dramatically different. The FLE3 update made a huge difference in the stock trigger feel. (which was already pretty darn good)

For lightest and fastest feel, DW hair 45 will get there. However I've had 2 of these, the v2/2.2 that leaked so badly that no attempted fix solved the problem which was really frustrating. Luckily one was replaced by the seller since I had purchased it new from a reputable dealer, and the replacement had zero problems. I also had read others having leaking problems as well.

If I had to do it all over again, FL 3way and ID Secret Pin.

The fact it's plastic in and of itself doesn't scare me. I'm no expert but as long as the tolerances are right, the seals being held in place by plastic or aluminum shouldn't make a big difference.

It's been a while (years?) Since I was deep into testing these valves but I recall enjoying the snappy-ness of the FL 3way over the v1 hair valve's smoother feeling shot. Also like it's 5 bucks cheaper than v2 which is impressive in this economy.

I'm happy they made one for the 180R mech frame. I'll give it a try.

                    This.
And V3 went straight for a price decrease. Hone your craft, streamline your processes, and offer more for less.

So, if I already think the Mech frame for the 180R has a short and smooth trigger pull, would i likely notice the difference? What would the changes to the pull characteristics be?

The FL3 in your m180R is a good valve.. But the hAir (all versions) uses a smaller Oring on the fire pin which translates into roughly 1/2 the trigger pull weight, and also has about 1/2 the trigger pull length out of the box.

And of course the most important reason- The hAir weighs about 0.27oz, and the brass FL3 weighs about 1.20oz.
~1oz difference is 1/16 of a lb your gun will be lighter.

yea. if you have the stock valve, you mind will be blown.

The best part about the v2 was that they made one for the og GTEK slider frame. still the only aftermarket one you can buy for that platform.

Agreed, out of all the upgraded valves on planet mech guns the OG gtek hair valve is the biggest change for me. I have two gmeks one with the original valve shooting them side by side it’s a huge difference.
