They know their target audience, noting the warning at the bottom asking these buyers not to EAT the product.

Supposedly it's slightly thinner than 33

I used some at my local proshop when tuning up a shocker and on the tip (heh) of my finger when lubing up the marker it feels identical

I don't think I can use this. My day job is fixing oil wells. My brain will see black slime and automatically identify it as petroleum residue. I've used white dow 33 for twenty six years and I'm not changing now.

Yeah I could see this being harder to clean off and spot over time. Seems like a bad idea to me.

Wait until Hormesis releases HorGreaseis. Brown 33 that has a Hormesis logo stamped into it like latte art and costs $80 for a container, and you can only get it if you catch the first 5 minutes of a "drop." Most of us will be lucky to get it for less than $200 from a scalper on eBay.

Food coloring and Dow33 is my guess. This has been the case since people switched from using vaseline.

If you need a thinner Dow 33 mix in a lil marker oil. use to do this on my spool markers to reduce FSDO and make them shoot in the bitter NY winters. Back when Spools still got FSDO. Planet Eclipse basically eliminated that through good engineering now. But if you got an older DM or Luxe thinning the Dow 33 out with oil and fitting orings made a massive difference in performance and efficiency.

If you can’t get things to seal up properly with the recommended oring replacements try Dow 55. Works great on clapped out 3 ways and sealing orings on leaky fittings.

I have however found performance differences between marker oils. My personal favorite is Outlast. It seems to stay in place better makes orings last they don’t soften up with it over time like with some other oils. Also on my stock class markers running CO2 I find when the 12g chills the outlast it stays thin and does not thicken up over time.

This feels like tinted tailights to me. "I made my lube black so that I could see it less".
