    Login Every single time

    Hey guys,

Any time I open MCB, on any browser or OS, (Chrome, Firefox, DuckDuckGo, Windows 10, Linux, Android), I have to log in again. If a page is open this does not happen, but as soon as I close the site it seems to log me out. This has been happening every since the update to MCB 2.0.

    Any suggestions?

Are you using a private window or incognito mode? Do you have your browsers set to clear cookies automagiclly? Sounds like multiple machines are you the admin of them or just a user? Do you have an ad blocker operational?

I find that even though it shows me logged out, I can click any link and I'm logged in again on page view #2

So for me I usually go straight to "New Topics" and then *bam* I'm on

This is how it has worked for me since the re-boot.

Look for the 'www' at the beginning of the url, if it is not there, add it, and viola you are logged in. Clicking on any action in the site also sends you to the www version. If you first visited 'mcarterbrown.com' then your browser probably saved it without the www, which will not have your login token.

So it does happen to me also that is shows I'm logged out. Just click the big MCB banner on top and let it refresh and then I'm always logged in.

This is definitely it. Damn, I had no idea the www was relevant to your login. I'll just have to bookmark it instead of typing mcb and smashing enter as the auto-fill hits.

Technically the www is a subdomain, it has its own set of cookies that isn't shared with the non-www version. All the links on the site properly have the www attached, but there isn't a base redirect from mcarterbrown.com to www.mcarterbrown.com. Somewhere the site actually knows that www is supposed to be the primary version, but it doesn't stop you from visiting the non-www version.

Is there a good reason why the redirect can't be set up?

I've never come across a site that does it this way, and it makes no sense I can think of.
