Notifications goes to white page

I see a red "6" in the notifications on the upper left. I choose it to open the drop-down, then hit "Go to message center" which directs to the page below, but it's a blank white page. This happens often actually and I usually just try again later and it works again.

Yeah, and we have no idea why it happens now and then. I'll clear the cache and whatnot to see if that helps. I've personally never had it happen and the error logs don't show anything. So just don't know what to do when it happens. They've stopped supporting this version and the only answer when I as is: upgrade. Which we can do I suppose.

I had it happening and was advised to delete a ton of subscriptions. Once I did that it cleared up the issue.
