Possible scammer
Possible scammer report. Had a thread in wtb and guy (has less than 10 posts) messaged saying he knows somebody that might have a part I was looking for. Messaged the guy and said he has it, never sent pictures, could only do Venmo no goods or services. Asked if he had feedback, gave me a name and that person never messaged me back on this forum. Screenshot of pm from guy on this forum and email from the other person attached. Iām offended from the trust issues part š

Yeah definetely a scammer there was a post about this from admins a while back. Basically you should never email off the site. Other spam users commented on my wtb and picture they sent was stolen direct from ansgear

On this site it is always a scam - always - whenever a new member responds to a WTB with a suggestion of "this buddy of his". We've seen that specific modus operandi a plethora of times over the years.

Painthappy Perhaps it might be a good idea to add this specific info to a sticky. I.e. - "If a newly created account responds to a WTB with a suggestion to reach out to a buddy of his, via email - it is a scam."
Sure, most members are probably well aware of this fact. But we do have a slow trickle of new or returning members, and who knows - perhaps a few of them actually read the stickies.Comment
