Log out inverval

Not a bug, more of a question.

Did you guys change a setting that forces users to log out from the server side?

I use the pc view in my web browser of my phone to use the site. It used to be, I was always logged in i could open the web Brower, and refresh the window, bam. Its up to date with notifications.

Prior to the past month or so, that was the case at least. Recently I am constantly having to re log in. In some cases it'll log me out in-between reading a forum post. I was reading a post yesterday, logged in, and when I clicked " reply" I was told I did not have authorization to post.. i was logged back out. My phone also has my log in credentials so it's a few extra clicks of inconvenience when it happens s, but I'm wondering why it's started.


That being said, I'm curious if I am being logged off due to a newer server protocol to help mitigate bots, or if I have someone logging into my account, causing my personal pho e to be logged out.

That does seem odd. I don't do any of the fancy stuff here. But, no new changes made, that I'm aware of.

Well I changed my password due to your comment. Let's see if it keeps logging me out today.

Yep, with a fresh password I was logged out after a few minutes of not having my browser open.

This is honestly fine, I'm just curious if it was an added security measure,or some cookie or similar issue.

I have something similar on my phone, any time I close the MCB tab it logs me out and I have to log back in when I open a new tab. Never in the middle of a session, and it stays logged in unless I X-out the MCB tab.

mine is probably more of me being technologically inept and having changed some phone setting. It doesn’t do it for PBN though, so who knows.

Nothing here... I don't really use a phone to get on the site much, but on my computer I'm always logged in. As for the phone, if any cookies or ip address changes you'll probably get logged out. As long as the rest is the same it shouldn't. I don't remember what the time out is set for, but let's just say it's a long long time.

Think: XXX.XX.10.101, then 102, then 103, then 105, then 109, 110, 112, you get the idea.

Well shit. Not sure why. Initially, aid assume someone backdooring my login but with a fresh password, I think not.

But I am currently at a customer site, and I have VERY spotty international in the whole facility. I am also set up on a mobile hot spot while in said facility, but it only works when I walk back to my cubicle area.

So maybe this is my phone creating new IP addresses every time I go from Hotspot, to 5g, to no signal, and back??

Well sorry if my IP flapping is causing excessive network usage. I'll see if I can't figure it out.

Ironically enough. I was logged out while working on that comment above.. see it still shows my "unlike" button above on paint happy's comment. Yet when I click post, I am not logged in..

Alright gents. As Painthappy said. It's me.

I just acid tested this theory.on my home wifi. Started up a post. Turned my wifi off and let my phone pick up 4g. Bam, Im logged out.


I've frivolously used wifi and or not prior to this though, and Ive never been logged out like this. Or at least, if I was, simply refreshing the forum would put me back in.

But now I know, If I stay on a stable network, it is fine. Any net changes will kick me out.

Apologies, for the trouble. I was able to stay simultaneously logged on to MCB while surfing with two different devices (phone/laptop). That was about my max level of computer troubleshooting.lol

I still have issues with this. I thought it was happening mainly when Id switch networks. ( is walking out of my house, dropping wifi, and picking up 5g)

But its logged me out mid post 3 times this morning. Im using Google Chrome as a browser, and maybe thats causing it. Its getting frustrating. i just logged in, confirmed I was logged in. Typed that long post in the " unique bunkers" thread, and when I clicked post.. i waslogged back out. And it bugs out and wont accept my log in. I have to copy and paste what Im trying to post and re log in and post fast.
