New title character limit breaking ability to DM from threads with >85char titles

this started happening a couple weeks ago on my sale listing - nobody can DM me and gets the same 89 of 85 character limit message even though we have no control over the subject line.

Can this somehow be alleviated by matching char limits for posts and DMs, or truncating DM title length automatically? (you can dm me from the above linked thread to quickly test this out)

Yeah, we rarely run into it. Just need to shorten the title. You should be able to edit it. I can allow more characters, but then people will use more and run into the same issue.

Gotcha - just weird that it's only now an issue rather than from the start of the thread/listing. I imagine heading the same title length limit for messages and posts, or auto truncating the messages that stem from posts are safe fixes that don't cause a sort of "character creep" issue.

But that all said, I'll check if i can edit the post title

Never a problem! Now that it came up again, I finally do remember that being an issue, but we just rarely run into it.
