    Danger, Will Robinson!!

    Hi all,

This news just broke this morning:

    https://www.php.net/archive/2026.php#2026-10-20-1

It's a massive flaw found in PHP the software which allows tens of millions of web sites to function, including MCB. I'm updating this immediately. There are other software updates waiting, too, but since this is a biggie I'm doing it ASAP rather than at zero dark thirty. Or, as cybersecurity peeps call it... An "out of band update".

So, most of you won't see this until the patches have been applied. If the site has been down this morning (10/21) this is why. It's a big deal!

All done. Took forever for some reason. Also, I rebooted the MCB server. Hadn't had a server restart in many months. Flushing the pipes is a good maintenance measure to take every once in a while. As for the PHP software update. It must be a very serious software flaw. Even the NSA released a statement urging people and organizations to update ASAP.

Thank you very much for your work.

On that note - I don't think that we - myself included - reflect upon all the hassle with keeping this website up and running. May I humbly suggest that you start a sticky thread where you post every single time you perform some work connected to the MCB website.

A single thread with even the minor tweaks listed, will over time make it quite obvious that it indeed takes quite the effort. However, by keeping it to one single thread, it might go completely under the radar for people who only gets notified of new threads. Perhaps do both a continuous stickied thread and a new post for each issue.

No matter what - I am very grateful.
