    Preorder: Custom Freak Backs

I'm in the middle of running another small batch of Freak backs, along with the short run of Brass ones. Looks like I'll wind up with more blanks than I need to fill my orders, so I thought I'd offer the rest to you ladies and Gents, and whatever the hell Axel is. (I hear mayo is involved in some way, but I don't wanna know...)

Anyway, if you have a marker that you'd like to throw a Freak back on, but can't find one, here's your chance. They'll be at least partially custom made- I'm CNC'ing the tip threads, but will cut the breech threads to fit whatever you want.

I'm gonna call it a flat $75 plus shipping for any style.

    Your options are:

'Classic' 5" insert tips, or new 8" insert XL tips.

    Bare aluminum or black anodized.

Straight ('bull barrel' style) or profiled.

And, of course, nearly any gun thread.

Barrel threads I CAN'T do: SL-68 (it's actually possible, but the join where the tip screws into the back is too big for the pump handle.)

Blazer (I'm working on a separate small run of those, stand by.)

Trracer (the barrel threads are too thin to Freak, and the pump also can't pass the join where the tip screws in. I have Trracer-Spacerrs for those. )

Automag twist-lock. (I can make those backs, but the additional milling is tricky, making the finished back pretty expensive. I have 'Cocker barrel adapters for those. )

Tigershark is barely possible, but very thin. Stingray is not possible due to the pins.

Old Sterling gets awfully thin, and again, can't pass through the pump.

F1 and Raptor are possible, the latter needing a 'retained' insert. I'll be working on a batch of those before too long.

I already have all three Angels in stock, as well as Bushmaster/Z1, Spyder, Ion and VM-68.

I've done ICD, old Shocker, and I'm hoping to try a couple for the old Cobra/King Cobra. (I'm also going to try fitting one to my 1st gen Andy Greenwell Blade. But, I'm willing to try any and all- keeping in mind I don't have specs for everything, and you may have to send me your gun, or at least the body/breech, for fitting.

Spartan? Storm? Got an old Outlaw or Razorback with a removable barrel? Heck, I'll make one for your SATCO 700!

Now, this will all take a little time. Not gonna blow any smoke up your skirt- I'm already pretty well booked. But I'm also already making the parts, and half the reason I'm even still in this biz is to get you guys some cool and fun s**t. (It sure as hell ain't for the money! )

PM me here, or email me at sales (at) docsmachine.com and in both cases, make sure the message says something like "custom barrel preorder" to help me keep track. Let me know what thread and combo you're interested in. I'll get you a quote, and if that works out for you, hit me with a PayPal, and I'll fill your order as quickly as possible. (Black anno adds nominally 3-4 weeks, of course.)

I have a Cobra on hand- my first-ever paintball gun, in fact.

I figured I'd make three, unless there was additional demand. One for me, one for you, and one to sell.

First was Super interested for a Trracer freak back however I see that is not possible - is a small barrel kit run too expensive to consider? like 672, 675, 680? would that be like a $200 product?

Spacers do work great tho - very grateful for those.

I don't yet have the capability of making an accurate barrel to any significant length. For that, I need better machines and tooling, neither of which I can afford at the moment.

        So Doc, I'm curious.

Any plans or desire to make a traditional straight profile gloss black back that will take freak inserts and UL tips?

The reason I'm asking is because a lot of us are running nostalgic barrels, like automags, and of course they no longer bore out for the small paint. Most guys are also running your adapters so the old automag barrels can no longer be used. Many of us run splash barrels, etc. The issue that I have discovered is if you pull the tips of these barrels like the all american, they can either be cut down into F1 thread or UL thread.... they can't be freaked since there isn't enough meat on the barrel for that thread.

Sconi currently makes something very similar (gas can) but it has profile to it vs just a straight back. A straight back will duplicate an OG all american barrel with the ability to use reclaimed splash tips AND freak inserts.

Just curious. Running sconis right now, but salvating at the idea of OG style straight backs.

-I was given to understand that EVI has Freak-bored barrels. Yep, some are backordered, and I have no idea how quickly EV keeps up on their production runs, but there's some available.

The issue with a 'conventional' Freak back is where the back and the tip screw together. It's not possible to make that much under a nominal inch, and that won't pass through a Phantom pump. And even many of the undercocking kits don't have enough clearance for it.

I can certainly make you one, but it'd be up to you to make the gun fit it.

-DYE Ultralite? I've done a few of those over the years, for players wanting to keep a color-matched tip to their custom build. I can certainly make you one, or even a short run, though I'd need to borrow a clean UL tip. I don't have one nor the specs for it.

What exactly is it you want? 'Cocker thread, straight sides and threaded for off-the-shelf UL tips?

            Doc.

            Yes, DYE ultralight

Basically mimicking a smart parts barrel profile so when you insert the tip it looks just like a big daddy or all american two piece barrel when the tip is installed.

            What I will need:

            5x Cocker threads
            1x Shocker SFT (shoebox) thread

            Possibly others also
