Not usually. The hole diameters on a lot of older guns are smaller, as to keep the CO2 condensed, so that you have more kinetic energy at the breech. These small diameters restrict compressed air flow because compressed air isn't partially vapor, like CO2 is.
Now, these Montneel's specifically were designed for liquid CO2 use. So the air restrictions are quite small in order to keep the CO2 from expanding into a gas, period, until the breech. So running HPA, you're going to choke the system.
