NIB crosman 3357 with all accesories and box Looking for approx value?

Will be for sale, but I have no idea where to even start on a value for it, anyone got any ideas? or would eBay be the best bet on this one?

$300 shipped seems like a fair bet.

There was a guy on eBay selling quite a few 3357 fronts with pellet gun backs. Each time one sold he raised the bottom dollar. Iirc they started around $150 and finished out at $250. They definitely weren’t NIB and needed work because the indexers were for the 10 shot pellet gun. I’d like to think you could pull at least $350 for NIB classic goods

Just curious... What needed to be done to convert from the shot indexer to the 6 shot indexer?

I sent mine to acrewofone for his restoration/tune up service. It shoots more reliably now than before the service. I imagine if you can get your hands on an original indexer from crosman that’s a good start

I could be wrong, but the index pawl is the same on the all Crosman 357 revolvers. The difference is the back of the clip. All of the Crosman revolvers can shoot 6 or 10 round clips interchangeably.. The problem may be in the gun body itself.. The old 3357 and 357 bodies are slightly different then the newer bodies.

The newer 357 pellet gun has different lever and index pawl inside. Basically it changes how far the cylinder is rotated, on the old 357s with the 6 shot cylinder, the cylinder was rotated further each shot, and with the newer 10 shot cylinder, not rotated as much. That is part of the reason why, on a 3357 that have a modern 357 back end installed on them, have trouble rotating and indexing the 6 shot 3357 cylinder, because they were designed to not rotate the cylinder as far.

The newer index pawl is different than the old one (which is no longer available), it is wider at the base, but you can sand it down to make it work. Also the newer 357 has a weaker spring on the cylinder detent, which makes it not lock in as consistently on the 3357 cylinder. Crosman made these changes for a lighter trigger pull on the modern 357. But the newest valve assembly actually has better CO2 flow that the older one, so there is that.

...and I would say no more than $300 for a "new in box" 3357, because of it's possible 30+ year age, rubber seals might be dried out, and the cylinder detent may have gone gooey with age, if it has the rubber ring center version of the cylinder. But having a good shape box and manual would be a value plus for a collector. Prices have been really crazy on 3357s, one month a 3357 only goes to $200, and the next month someone gets $400 for a virtually identical package. I will say that extra cylinders will make the price go up, as that is a coveted item.

And the shop googles in the first post never came with a new 3357, there was the marker, the box, the manual and 50 red paintballs in the package that originally sold for $89, I think.

Sounds good, I haven't tried to gas it up, and it is the rubber cylinder seal at the front, I haven't done more than just take it out of the box for the pictures, as I have no intent to shoot it, so far its the nicest one I've ever seen as far as the actual condition of the box, manual and gun, it doesn't even look like it had been upacked before I got it.

Hey Andy, Nice to see your still here. Give me a call sometime. I'm sitting on a large box of original 3357 parts from the late 80s. Wanted to check with you first. Mike 817-264-2781

I sold a beat up 3357 on the old MCB a few years back that had either 3 or 4 total cylinders and a holster for $325 within 24 hours. I would agree that $300 is a solid price for a NIB with a single cylinder. Mine had gummy cylinder seals and a rusty barrel

I bet I can remake those detent rings, out of the same urethane I cast all my other detents out of.
