Cracked and leaking air like crazy!!! Absolutely nobody stocks these anymore and I would be grateful if someone had a spare cap/solenoid/board assembly with solenoid laying around. Fits smart parts SP1, GOG G1 electronic, As well as the GOG envy/Smart parts VIBE.

Pic shows the old unit. The new unit is part # ENV058 and has brass nuts to hold the halves together instead of the screws.
I have JB Welded mine with mixed results . One worked ok, the other I could not get to stop leaking.
I may get a mech kit for it.

Yeah I saw that one too that would be pretty easy to make work but doesn’t look like I can’t even find the new one in stock either. Craig The service manager at GOG said they only carry the eNMEy solenoid anymore and it’s not compatible. Said my SP-1 was like a “classic car“ and I’m gonna have to start scrounging!

I've got a SP1 and it's going to be mech'd. The cap is a total hassle and couldn't prevent it from leaking. Can't find the new style and not worth the hassle. If mech'ing works well, then I can have a new hobby of buying dead SP guns and converting them.Comment

Can you just purchase the newer mechanical solenoid and actuator pin and drop it in?That would be my only other option basically. I figured you’d need the newer G1 mechanical trigger frame and a different trigger at the least?Comment

Well gang I ended up MacGyver-ing it, or should I say M. Carter Browning it. Bought some aluminum wire crimp connectors (rated at 14/16 gauge) at the local hardware store in the fastener section. Reamed out the cracked section of the noid with a 5/32 drill bit. Put the crimp connector in the vise and ever so carefully ran a 4-40 steel screw through it and tapped some threads. Buttoned it all up with some Loctite 401. We’ll see if it holds!Comment

Accidentally got some CA glue down in the threads and ended up spinning the bushing in it’s mount! Round two with JB Weld this time. Wish me luck. Still looking for a spare cap or solenoid unit, If anyone has one old stock, would be greatly appreciated!

Well after all that its still leaking air like crazy. Not around the cracked area but around the O-ring seal or where the Electric leads pierce through the housing. Looks like the old glue is no longer airtight. Basically the entire Solenoid seems shot.Comment

Honestly I’m pretty frustrated. I say shame on smart parts/GOG for going with these cheap junk solenoids. Every Used marker with these solenoids that I’ve seen online for sale is listed as parts only “has an air leak…” With the amount of leaky solenoid articles on all the forums we all know the problem with these leaky guns as well. I called my local paintball shop and he says he has THIRTY-FIVE of them with that solenoid style that are benched due to lack of solenoid availability.Comment

It was a good effort! I tried and failed on my SP1 as well. Definitely agree it’s lame of Smart Parts first in the bad design and second to abandon the updated part. Still need to order my t and hoses for the mech conversion.Comment

Yep it’s definitely a shame, these markers were built quite robustly otherwise. It’d be like building a jeep with plastic transmission gears and glass pistons!
I think GOG should step up and offer some sort of retrofit kit at least that they market specifically for these older markers as a courtesy. Ruger firearms from 1973 to this day offers free retrofit kits for certain older revolvers with an inferior hammer design. Acknowledge your mistake and offer a solution versus telling me I’m SOL like the GOG service representative did.
