Sadly a lot of information was lost in the Great Paintocalypse of 2020. Hopefully most can be found and ported over to the new bunker. This segment is a continuation of an idea and I’m still waiting for the machinist to wrap her up. Preface: interface a Karnivor or evo front block to any non-evo type body. Correct me about the evo bit if I’m wrong. Begin pictures

I sent a drilled mini body to CMN Fabrication and Design on Facebook to make a fitting that locates the front block and uses a standard banjo bolt to attach everything too. Chris over there also does custom brass parts for you sick individuals...

Brandon Mcall or McCall (sorry Brandon) at BMC Fabrication up in Oregon also on Facebook did the window cuts between the tubes on the body pictured. He also bored a barrel for me.

Not anything intricate, just something as an update and some filler. I’ll post up the progress as it goes.

FINALLY DONE!!! Everything gets shipped back to me this week from CMN!!! Here’s the custom fitting Chris made to interface a Karni front block to a mini Orracle, plus a few minor body and bolt mods. Now I have to make a custom length pump arm and Cerakote everything to make it pretty. Follow up soon!

If anyone wants that fitting made, they’ll have to ship the body and block out so the threads can be timed for the index.

I’ll put better photos up when everything arrives and as I build this one out. Those are what was sent to me.

I may go into detail with how I Cerakote my stuff if anyone is interested. Won’t yield pro results, but good enough if your spraying environment is clean and your shop air is dry.

I'd love for you to do some form of a write up or adventures in DIY Cerakoting. I was checking out their air cure stuff for when (IF) I get my parts back from Nummech.

I actually have very little interest in Karnivors, and the only Oracles I concern myself with are in DnD/PF1. Lol. But the process, the engineering, the tinkering... love it.

I like how the custom adapter is indexed/keyed... don't know if the bodies it is emulating are also indexed like that, and I don't really care... the fact that an index feature is incorporated into the adapter makes me smile. The countersink around the hex is a professional touch, good to see it's there. Spacing/fit to the body looks tight and square/true to the bore... at least as far as it appears in that picture.

Any plans to blend the body and the front block?

I am interested in the your Cerakote process... I have a few markers I wouldn't mind refinishing, but wouldn't ever pay to have them ano'ed.

I had a member on here, Kit, make me a custom LPC for a PT Xtreme recently. I really dig completely custom BS that starts as a sketch on a napkin...

Yes, the stock bodies are indexed. The threads on this fitting were timed so the fitting is clocked. I’ll have to use some thread lock, but from what Chris said it will be a solid hold. There was a good discussion and some ideas passed around in the last forum on how to tackle this. Unanimous decision was to make the fitting, which worked out since I needed some other modifications done to bodies and a couple bolts.
I was wondering if I should trust my lack of molding skills to blend the body to the front block. I may photoshop something to have an idea of what it will look like beforehand, guess if I don’t like it I can buy a Resurrection front block.

I’ll do my best. ‘05 Pro/Superstock/BM, Karnis and Resurrections have a different interface for mounting the front blocks, and has an indexing nub to prevent rotating while keeping everything true. I had a machinist make a fitting that replicates the interface needed to adapt a Karni front block to a standard 2k body. The male threads for this fitting had to be specifically cut for this body so when it bottoms out, the indexing nub will be in the proper place so the front block is squared for a secure fit and proper orientation. Without the nub, the front block will freely rotate.

If that isn’t as clear as mud, I’ll have to resort to pictures. I’m horrible at explaining things through a keyboard. Anyone interested should chime in too. Toss in ideas and criticisms for this project. This isn’t an exclusive build thread. I’m still in the process of brainstorming the next step.

As for blendinding the body...

From profile: round the front-bottom edge to match the upward arc on the bottom of the front block.

Face on: round the front-bottom corners to match the diameter of the front block along the bottom.

That should require the least amount of work, but accomplish blending the two pieces nicely.

Post up the cerakote info! I love easy quick setups, I have small handheld powder coating setup I got for $20 I use with an old toaster oven. I simply spray in a part of the backyard with the pieces hanging off a ladder using a wire hanger. Doesn't get cheaper then that! lol I can't use powder coating for paintball though so I'd love to eventually try cerakoting.

Ok folks, got everything back from CMN! Here’s a mock-up or whatever you call it. I may not use the volume chamber, we’ll see if the crooked cocking solenoid will piss me off. If this were mid-blocked it would be a tight setup.
Now I have to make or cut down a full-size pump arm, then shape the body a little bit to match the Karni block, and then Cerakote.
