    3D printed part needed

Is anyone able to print me up a top rail cover for my hammer 7? It’s a small piece or rail that is used to cover up the feedneck port when you’re using it magfed, but mine didn’t come with it. Just want it printed in black.

I believe this may be the file needed for it.
I bought my H7 used without the feedneck cover so I started printing the one from thingieverse just to discover it needs some tweaking to work. enjoy!

please let me know if anyone can help me out. Thanks!

Looks fairly simple. Ill take a crack at it tonight. Black pla. Or silk copper work?? I also have some natural pla i havent been able to print, but I've dried it for a couple days so it may work. No promises my printers cooperate, but if I get it just pay shipping.

I’m not picky, I just need something on top so when the spring pushes the ball it doesn’t shoot out the top of the rail, haha. Whatever you could get working in black is perfectly fine. Thank you very much for taking a stab at it, I appreciate it!

Alright. Print is running. I put it inards down with support and a raft. The raft was just for funsies. I figure cleaning the part you dont see up with sand paper is best.

My extruder has stipped a few times my last print, so Im running slow.. cura said about 2 hours to print. But the printer times always seem tp slide.

First attempt was a failure it printed, but its not pretty. Got my black in the dryer. I loaded my natural in my nicer printer, and I'm trying the program again.

I'll throw my hat in the ring. I have some black Overture PLA+ loaded. One cover should be about 3 hrs. If it works, I'll print a few extra for good measure.

Picatinny down? You going no support there? Maybe ill try mine different. But my natural one looks good so far, and maybe you can see the ball color through a natural one.

Going with tree support. Should allow for a smooth ball face

I may flip mine and make another tomorrow.

I figured make the visible parts nice, and sand the ball face, but we shall see. Its much past my bed time, but there's 10 minutes left on this print, and its better than prime time tv.

Natural was a success, but I think it would look better like OpusX is printing his. I started another natural with this same file, and Im hitting the sack. Ill flip the part and make a new file tomorrow.

It's awesome that everyone is helping you out. For the record though, you don't actually need this part to use a Hammer 7 as mag-fed. To switch between hopper/mag on a Hammer 7 you rotate the barrel (make sure to rotate it the right direction, or you will slice off the detent) to uncover which feed you want to use. I just leave the hopper feedneck on mine even when using mags.
              I can haz feedback?
If I owe you feedback, just remind me, as I sometimes forget.

When I had a hammer 7, I remembered to rotate it correctly the first few times, then I chopped the detent.

Well shes done. The rail troughs look rough as expected due to the tree supports but the ball side is smooth.

I’m honestly good with either (or both, since you both worked at it for me). Please send me PMs with pricing and I will get you both paid up. I really appreciate it!

this is for my Mares Leg kit, so lots of mods were done to the whole thing. I thought that it needed this part so it didn’t spit rounds out the top, but I may be remembering the issue incorrectly. Nonetheless, I still want these parts. Thanks again, gents!

If you don't plan on using a hopper ever/often, it will look better with this in place, even if it's only cosmetic.

Just cover shipping for mine. Ill churn a few more out too. I may even get a nice black one going after it dries a bit more.

im curious on how the natural filament would take dye.

As for shipping. Ill likely try a padded envelope or something to ship.

I got a black one on the bed of my nicer printer. Ill be gone for work before its done, but the support material looks nice so I assume it'll print nice. Ill probably spit out a second black for good measure and send them all. Im tempted to toss the naturals in a rit dye bath just to see how natural filament looks dyed.

She was done before I left. I didn't have time to inspect, but it looked nice.

There is something really satisfying about getting a clean break from a raft and supports.
