    30 round stick feed (3x10)

    Hey All,

    I turned a shower thought into a new design and was hoping to get some feedback.

    Thought:
    How can I add capacity if I want to run 10 round tubes?

    Concept:
    Revolver or Drum style feed system which accepts 10 round tubes
    I chose 3 tubes = 30 rounds or equivalent to a mag fed marker.
    Feed system allows for 1 tube to be loaded at a time with 2 additional tubes quickly accessible to load

    Does this meet Stock Class criteria?
    The paintball gun must be:
    1) manually operated (pump action, lever action, bolt action, etc.)
    2) horizontally fed with no assist (having a feed tube that runs parallel to the barrel with no spring assist)
    3) powered by a single 12-gram CO2 cartridge

    Modifications that ARE allowed:
    • Any pump-action gun with a direct feed nipple can be equipped with a 90° elbow attached directly to the nipple. A horizontally-mounted feed tube must be mounted directly into the 90° elbow (to prevent excessive "ball stacking").
    • Any type of 12-gram CO2 cartridge "bucket changer", or "drop out changer"
    • Lever changers/slam changers that hold ONE (1) 12-gram CO2 cartridge
    • Stabilizers / regulators
    • Maximum 20 round feed tube
    • Any length barrel/sized barrels
    • Any type of barrel porting
    • Any type of "Raincover"
    • Pump guns with auto-triggers are allowed because a horizontal feed negates the ability to effectively auto-trigger. Even so, the act of auto-triggering (or attempting to auto-trigger) is NOT allowed.

    Modifications that are NOT allowed (because they create an unfair advantage or safety risk):
    • 12-gram changers that hold multiple cartridges (AGD 6-packs, ACI turret changers)
    • First Strike Rounds
    • Spring Feeds
    • Any type of Mag-fed system
    • Laser sights


    Is horizontally fed
    Tubes run parallel to the barrel and does not have a spring assist
    Is not a magazine system​
    Only allows 1 tube to be actively feeding at a time, the round capacity is 10 (plus whatever is in the feed neck if you preloaded)

    I think the only potential issue is even through you are only feeding one tube at a time you have 20 other rounds ready to rock so some purists may argue you have more paint than is allowed on the marker at one time. Personally I have no issue with it as I don't think it provides a major advantage vs. a standard feed tube or cram'n'jam. Also bonus points for the sillines. Someone needs to pair this with the War Machine/ACI turret so you can rotate ALL THE THINGS

        I think the device is really neat, and it is a great way to up your capacity while using 10 round tubes. It also skirts the spirit of stock class play. Watching the feed video, it seems that you do get extra "ball stacking" compared to a more traditional feed. Is this system actually providing a meaningful gameplay advantage in an all stock class game (assuming you're lucky enough to actually experience such an event)? Maybe, maybe not. But if I were at such an event, I suspect the enthusiasts/snobs in attendance would not let this fly.

          Those are not Stock Class. Some event organizers might let it fly. Beantown made a 4 tube one a while ago. I don’t see this as an advantage but Stock Class rules are set by the event organizer. I know the West Coast games are very lax.

            ahh very interesting and similar concept I could argue this design being different as it looks like it feeds from all 4 tubes at once?

            Nope one at a time off the bottom tube. It’s got sprung ball bearings to index it between the rotating sections.

          Love the discussion! Its a shame there are not more stock class games to play but like the 12 slam chargers, there was no rule against them until someone came up with the idea. In this case, we are talking about how quickly you can reload or swap out a new tube.

          I think the closest analogy would be a magazine coupler and not a magazine. Coming from a state that has highly restrictive firearm laws, this device would not fit the definition of a magazine. Paint can only be fed from a single tube, once emptied, the tube would need to be manually cycled to a new ammunition (paint) feeding device. You can also reload a single tube so you can argue the device houses up to 3 'magazines'. There is now rule against additional paint being stored on the marker itself.

          This was a fun/silly project and I may make a direct addon for my phantom just to have an excuse to bring it out more often.

            It holds to many shots. Technically ported barrels, AT, and lever changers are not allowed in the original rules as well. Most organizers use the 2.0 rules that allow for single 12g lever changers and ported barrels. They allow markers with AT but you can’t use it. Really if it’s your game run it how you want. Some events allow HPA and call anything with a Stick feed Stock Class. Then there is the term modified Stock Class thrown around. To me there is Open class and Stock Class. This would be considered open class to me. Not that there is anything wrong with that it’s just a different format used to determine what type of game play to expect. Like mag fed, mech, semi, ramp, blowback, pump.

                    The whole point of the rules is to keep the rate of fire down.

                      Thanks for the feedback. I will probably pursue cleaning up the design. I hadn't played stock class in years but out of curiosity looked up what the current standards were and then the "what ifs"
                      I think this would be a lot of fun to run with a 13ci tank and to dust off the bin of 10 round tubes sitting on the shelf. Oooo maybe I will add a camera mount to the front.
