Anyone try doing a rail for double barrel automag. One that would work for both ule warp and classic stainless direct feed bodies?

Yup the dual rails I designed and made were compatible with both ule and stainless bodies.
8 of the KAM Designs Dually rails are ule/stainless compatible
2 of the KAM Designs Dually rails are ule only
The final production rails are aluminum. The prototypes were 3d printed
this is the only picture i can find on my phone of the gun. I have been reasonably careful not to show pictures of the rails as I don't want them copied. But will look to see if i have something on the computer that shows more.
Also AGD built one many years ago with similar layout for minimag bodies.

The AGD one was built for Mark Lauterborn (sp?) in the early 90s (circa 1993?) It use two Stainless bodies with the Power Feeds one hopper Left and one hopper Right offset slightly so they crossed and could mount two hoppers with elbows above the marker. Mark was my Ultimate Judge during IAO 93 and it was a beast to carry. I got the opportunity to use it one night after tournament games had ended for the day with a bunch of other Judges (referees) got to play some fun games on a predecessor of a speed ball field. I quickly went back to my F1 Illustrator after one game. It also had an early HPA, what we called N2 bottle as a gas source. -

I know who currently has the AGD dual. Its a awesome gun but as you said a beast. My design concept was to make it as light as possible so its heavily cut underneath and inside. My personal one was always planned for carbon bodies as well which is why it is one of the ULE only rails.
I have no plans to reproduce these. They are one of the small run "super custom" projects I've been doing. Not to mention anything short of a 10 part run is extremely expensive. and even at that they are still expensive.

Quickly snapped this before getting the kid on the bus and then heading to the office. (yes I know I need to get better screws for the valves.)
The ones I did that accept both ULE and Stainless have more material to allow for the barrel detent pin.

cougar20th is 3d printing an option for the rails. Would that bring down the cost and time on them. I know there are few guys that have printed some mag frames. Not heard how well they have worked or held up.Comment

My issues with "production" printed rail for automags lies in the zlock slot. The ones I have had printed are not strong enough in that area to stop the valve back half from turning. The rails splinter there when the adjuster is turned because the back halve of the valve turn with the adjuster. That coupled with having watched someone who had a cut agd rail spin off the back half while the gun was aired leads me to dislike it. Thus I will not make and sell printed rail or rails without the zlock slot. It not worth the risk for me in a sue happy society.
If you were to design a an print a rail yourself for yourself then it's all up to you as far as risk. And yes the rail will likely work except the zlock as long as it was designed right.
I don't like but am ok with printed triggerframes as they dont hold any parts that have the risk of injury if treat poorly.Comment

Would it be possible to print the rail in a way that accepts an aluminum z-lock insert? Mechanically attached to the print. -
Several people have worked towards something like that without success so far. -
What about doing an aluminum bracket/plate insert that would sit inside the 3d printed rail where the z-lock pin sits. Can be held in place by bolt and nut. Maybe about the last half inch of the rail or so.
