After playing around with timing etc I had it shooting well but just couldn't get velocity out of it no matter what I did, so I decided to move it along to someone else to tinker with and carry on with other builds.

However, certain events transpired and it's not currently worth the aggravation to ship.

Soooo..... I shelved it for several months and forgot about it until I was digging through a box for something and found it sitting where I had left it, and a few bits that I think will help the velocity issue. I need to repair the ram mount as well, it's come apart on me so I'm going to resolder it and reinforce it with a setscrew.

We've had some very cold weather the last little bit (it's frickin' cold in here, Mr. Bigglesworth) so I haven't gotten a ton done but....

I did get some things done.

There's a few chokepoints in the parts I used - namely, the PPS vertical adapter and Meteor Red Chamber. The VA has a tiny, 2mm hole through it and the Red Chamber has a big chunk of dead space in it which decreases the valve chamber considerably. I drilled out the VA to 3/16" and cut a chunk off the Red Chamber - I'll be using a purple spacer from Meteor for the front grip screw mounting position.




The Red Chamber got an oring groove cut into it so it will still seal off the lower tube but I'll have a much larger volume in front of the valve now.

The source would be from all the Sheridans I've rebarreled over the last few years, I guess. 🙂 I think this one might be made from barrel tube off a P-12?

It's all PMI/Sheridan barrel tube, both upper and lower... I had Cocker threads machined into a larger diameter brass tube that the barrel tube slides into and all soldered together.

Do you prefer macihing threads over running a tap for the barrels? I picked up a cocker thread tap and die a while back but havent put them to use yet.

I had a friend do the work, I think he machined the threads. I don't know that I have a preference really.
