I need me some learnin (Vector adjacent)

the mechanical solenoid on a vector, is the ability for mechanical control specific to that solenoid body?

Im not sure i understand your question, but the mechanical conversion of the solenoid on the vector was to get a short pull trigger you cannot short-stroke (witch is a concern on cockers).
The solenoid was extensively modified to be controlled with the trigger mechanism.

do you believe the mods are unique to that solenoid? or even do you think that sort of switch/solenoid is available off the shelf now? alternatively do you believe that there are other devices that function/feel similar?

From memory, those were electronic solenoid that were heavily modified. The solenoid have the same purpose as a cocker 3-way (technically they are 5-way solenoid)
What make them special is the snappy actuation and short travel.

As far as I know there is no mechanical equivalent available on the market, there are a few electronics ones, but you'll have to make a control circuit and they may only run on 24vdc.

In terms of plumbing function, it's just a 5-way valve, nothing special, pneumatic ram control valve are not exotic

not that i know of ... it was their secret sauce to prevent short stroking and was advertised as a gun you cant short stroke ...

I did a little digging, I might be onto an alternate but I gotta admit that mech solenoid is incredibly cool.

A MAV4, MPA2, and a SMAV3 can be used - I did that on one of my mech RM conversions, and Alexndl's MacDev Clone.

I'm planning a Matrix mech conversion using the same components.

so the SWAV3 drive the MPA2 piston cap to actuate the MAV4?
Does the MAV4 have an exhaust port for the gas coming out of the ram or you rely on the QEV?

Exactly - you could use a Fabco MSV2 (like a pneumag) to drive the MPA2 as well, but I don't like how they vent on each trigger pull.

The MAV4 has exhaust ports but I still used QEVs for the builds to help with cycle speeds.
