the mechanical solenoid on a vector, is the ability for mechanical control specific to that solenoid body?
I need me some learnin (Vector adjacent)

Im not sure i understand your question, but the mechanical conversion of the solenoid on the vector was to get a short pull trigger you cannot short-stroke (witch is a concern on cockers).
The solenoid was extensively modified to be controlled with the trigger mechanism.Love my brass ... Love my SSR ... Hard choices ...

My Feedback-
do you believe the mods are unique to that solenoid? or even do you think that sort of switch/solenoid is available off the shelf now? alternatively do you believe that there are other devices that function/feel similar?

From memory, those were electronic solenoid that were heavily modified. The solenoid have the same purpose as a cocker 3-way (technically they are 5-way solenoid)
What make them special is the snappy actuation and short travel.
As far as I know there is no mechanical equivalent available on the market, there are a few electronics ones, but you'll have to make a control circuit and they may only run on 24vdc.
In terms of plumbing function, it's just a 5-way valve, nothing special, pneumatic ram control valve are not exotic

I did a little digging, I might be onto an alternate but I gotta admit that mech solenoid is incredibly cool.Comment

A MAV4, MPA2, and a SMAV3 can be used - I did that on one of my mech RM conversions, and Alexndl's MacDev Clone.

I'm planning a Matrix mech conversion using the same components.Last edited by Jordan; 10-07-2025, 04:12 PM.Comment
