It’s still in a pile of projects. Home projects have come first, and should wrap up soon. I’m on the lookout for parts and I’ve been noodling on the fitup for my idea, but no tangible progress.Originally posted by Chuck E Ducky:

Technical difficulties on my end....

I mainly want to get the valve train tuned up first, since these are such tippmanns to get apart.

Put the valve in a vise (between pieces of wood, a cut piece of rubber hose or PVC pipe). Push the brass plug down with a pencil until it clears the inlet then stick a toothpick in the inlet hole to hold it down. I use a fat oring pick to dig the clip out from the body then wedge it under to get it out of the groove. It will take a few tries. If the clip is spinning in the groove hold the bottom end with a small flathead screwdriver. -
I hold the valve with one hand, push the brass plug down with a dowel rod until there's enough room for the o-ring pic to get at the hidden end of the retainer to keep it from spinning and use a flat blade with my other hand to pry the visible end of the retainer out the groove while stirring my pot of chili with my eighth hand. fucking bullshit cheap ass tippmann execs in their cast aluminum towers.

Progress imperceptibly slow....
So ran into the local airsoft store (shudder) for cheap pistol mag pouches because I don't need fancy I just need functional.
Low and behold they had the clamps I needed! And for $20 a pair!Comment

Functional?? Sure. What good is that??
Mine was in pretty decent shape really. I need to settle on the gas source to tune the velocity, but it has serviceable velocity and recocks well with HPA.
I have the feed chopped up and the barrel is suspect. The barrel has noticable wear from the 50 Cal kit o-ring. I want to use the barrel one way or another. I'm not sure if the wear will matter.

After some fiddling.... I have one working carver!
I grossly underestimated the amount of Tippmann bolts I thought I had. So going to my local proshop to raid their junk boxes like the old days this coming week.Comment
