Thanks for the heads up. I live an hour away and have never owned an Autococker. I messaged him.
We will see if someone beat me to it.

Yeah for $75 that is a, call in sick to work and drive their right now, type of deal!

EDIT: I wanted to add a pic from the listing, for future reference, so it isn't lost to the ether...

        EDIT 2: Serial 6299 would make this a 1992!

No response yet from the seller, but now that I see the listing is a week old already, I don’t hold out much hope.

I contacted this guy last friday! He will take $300 for it not $75. I posted this same marker in "Ask the expert". He has been hard to get a hold of but willing to ship. I'm going to take a risk on it.. Wish me luck!

I wouldn't trust that back block set up..... To much of the body is removed. I'm betting it has a bunch of breach wear from bolt wiggle.

The cocking rod also doesn't have a bumper on it. I'm guessing because of the lack of wear this was a wall hanger.

ID:	185999 Breach wear isn't as bad as i anticipated.. however the list of bad is getting longer and longer the deeper I dive.

Is it just me or does that look like a halfblock that lost its bolt, sled and pin?

It looks like a cocker some dude milled "all cool bro" with zero knowledge of the mechanics of the gun.

At this point it should be half blocked.... Or parted and the body chucked

Yup. Almost certain that was some early form of halfblock. It was clearly milled for a "lug slot", which wouldn't have been needed if they'd intended to keep the back block and conventional bolt, and that slot has been notched to the side.

Meaning the bolt likely had a fixed lug, like the early Sheridans, and the bolt was slid in, and twisted to lock it back into place. Again, like the old "quick strip" slots for Sheridans.

But, with that layout, the bolt would have been supporting both the lug and the "block", which was almost certainly a wrap-around affair. (That is, not a "sled" as we know such things today.)

Loops; If you want to "restore" it, for want of a better phrase, I'd love to take a crack at making a functional backblock and bolt for it.

Hahaha I figured someone from here drove to price up. I had message him right when he posted. He emailed me back and had said I was first in line, but he got an offer of $120. If I could match it was mine. I message him right back ,said I would take it and his reply was ok, well offers are going crazy and it was at $230.

I said ok, I am out and good luck. Keep us posted on what Doc works his magic.
