Tip on booking Hotels through Priceline

I was just booking my hotel for Stocktoberfest on Priceline. They have the express deals which just tells you how many stars the hotel is, but never tell you what hotel you get until after you pay. I don't use those deals anymore due to a disaster when it booked me in this super sketchy Red Roof In once (3 stars my ass).

However on teh express deal details there is a section that has "Hotel Location" which gives a flowery description of where it is. I checked and it is unique for all hotels. So I just copied that text, and clicked on hotels in the normal listings and would hit ctrl+F to bring up the page search and paste in the text. Sure enough I found a perfect match. The express deal is $95, and the hotels listing is a Holiday inn express for $217 a night. Not a bad deal!
EDIT: I just discovered that the location details can be the same for more than one hotel. But you can combine the search with the "Extra Details" section that talks about covid protocols and pet fees and stuff.

Very cool, my wife does those deals and I am always worried we will get a dud hotel. Really appreciate the tip

The biggest issue that I have run across while dealing with any of the "better price" type sites is two fold.
The major one for me is that they have a click box for handicap accessible (things like benches in the shower) and 95% of the time it's a lie. I end up booking an accessible room to get there and find they don't have any, or even benches to utilize.
The other is a similar situation with pets.

I use a similar trick as above to contact the site specifically to make sure they can accommodate my needs. REALLY sucked sharing a room with people at Supergame and having to sit in a bathtub....

Half of the fun of Stocktoberfest happens after 10 pm on Saturday night. You don't get the chance to play drunken laser tag often. All the best conversations happen at around 1am. Don’t go to your hotel to early.

I was hoping to have the whole campout experience, but the whole family and I already have plans Saturday, and they will be joining me in the Hotel. Sadly, I will only be able to be there for Sunday. Next year, I will make sure to block out my calendar!
