Not a fan of shaving, but less a fan of the neckbeard.
Really, as far as the family can trace, we're Irish, German, one Hopi Indian (great-great grandma), and some sasquatch must have snuck in there somewhere. Before too long, I'll be able to connect my cheeks to my eyebrows.
$25 for 4 carts is a scam. So $8 for 100 DE blades, and each of those last as long as a cartridge? Can do.
Shaving soap and a brush is better than canned shaving cream, and my 50s-era adjustable Gillette works as well as my Mach 3.
I mean, I've got light skin and dark, thick whiskers so I've got a 5-o'clock shadow by the time I'm done shaving, but cartridges are no better.
Been considering shaving my head, though, and no way I'm doing DE for that. Carts or electric there.
Anyone else shave like a man?

I do too. I used to be hardcore into collecting all sorts of razors, brushes, products, and so on. I even got into making my own brushes, customizing and restoring straight razors, honing my own blades, and posting on shaving forums like I do here.
After maybe ten years, I eventually settled down with what I found works for me. Now it's just a morning routine, but with better results than before I started.Leave a comment:

Oh that's awesome, I know my grandpa used a DE I found it in a drawer when I was a young teen but sadly I had no interest and I'm sure it got donated or thrown away long before I could use it. That said I have a Gillette slim that's as old as my dad and a tech from the same year and quarter my mom was born. Both are amazing shavers -

Double edge safety razor. Since I started using one, no more felicilotus or whatever the hell they call in grown hairs.Leave a comment:

I actually use their razors. I had my grandfather's Gillette senator (~1936) refinished and I prefer it over my father's Gillette slim line adjustable. I still go back and forth sometimes.
I shave every other day, which gets too long for most razors without multiple passes. The senator lops it all off nicely. It's all just temporary anyway. The pandemic got me to spend more time shaving less often.😁
I have my grandfather's straight razor as well, but that is too much focus for something that otherwise feels pretty good.

Used to use two-blade disposable razors but I hate shaving and just rock a beard most of the time. I do use a disposable razor to clean up the cheeks and neck once a week, but that's it otherwise.Leave a comment:
