    Anyone wrap guns?

As anno is probably too expensive, I’m thinking of wrapping my daughters paintball guns . She wants a galaxy pattern. Anyone done this before?

Depends on the guns, the more edges and complex curves, the harder it is. Wrap can be pretty thick depending on what is used. Hydro dipping may also be an option.

I wrapped my S5 in 3M 2080. It turned out okay. Not sure about more complex markers. Best thing I could say is give it a go. Definitely need a heat gun and some single edge razors.

I had a Hydrodipped freeflow lotus body that held up surprisingly well. It's just had to get it perfect.

I have wrapped a couple of Classic Automags. Since the body is very smooth on the Classic Automag, it was quite easy and I could hide the seam between the body and the rail. The main issue with the Automag was to find the correct pattern for the wrap, to make the hole for the feed neck.

It might have helped that I have worked with both printing wrap, and performed simpler wrap jobs. Depending on the wrap a heat gun may or may not be necessary, although you will get any misplaced wrap off a whole lot easier with the help of a heat gun. Heating the wrap may give the wrap a bit more stretch when you apply it, again depending on the wrap.

As for the wrap, go for the better grades that are being used on sports cars and air planes. It will be quite thinner and easier to fit into seams- However - it is a bit harder to work with until you get the hang of it. Oh, and absolutely get some soft applying tools - both the plastic ones (in relevant size), and the cell phone sized appliers made from soft fabric. I have no idea what thay are called in English, sorry.

Those of you who did hydro dip, did you do it yourself?

I dipped mine myself. Just do your due diligence and prep and tape it off well. I did my TiPX one shell at a time. I also had a razor blade handy so I could trim the tape and scrape back overspray (I had painted mine with undercoat)

I had a lot of extra film so I practiced a couple time before taking the plunge (pun intended)

I think doing the barrel would be really tough though, maybe go on barrel top first at an angle with the bottom facing up? You may has to roll it as you dip it. I’m sure there is a youtube video showing you how.

I have wrapped my Emek body. It came out ok. I'm not great at it so it was fine looking from a few feet away but if you really looked you could see it wasn't super tight. The more curves and bumps the harder it is. You will need more heat too.

I prefer to hydrodip it. I had that done and it looks great and holds up well. I have used Simon's Hydrographincs and he has done a great job. I had my Emek body done and also a few barrels, my CTRL shells and triggers.
