First forum I was on was torontopaintball then that closed up, never bothered moving over to tdotballers. Ended up on a local forum for an army surplus store/pro shop which is now long closed (owner got stabbed in a botched robbery and basically said screw it afterwards). Never bothered with TechPB or PBN. Was on the forums for I want to say it was called like paintball encylopedia or something. Basically a catalogue of guns it's logo was a cartoon speedballer character in bright orange gear.

I kinda miss pbreview. I wonder what happened to them. One day, they just weren't there anymore.

I lurked rec.sport.paintball. I was a kid, so I wasn't allowed to sign up or anything. I was using AOL under my parents accounts with heavy supervision. But, my dad played paintball in the 80s. Not very seriously, but enough to appreciate it. So when I got into it in the 90s, he was very supportive. I worked for my gear by mowing lawns, shoveling driveways, and throwing newspapers. When I bought my first Spyder kit, my dad found it was a great excuse for himself to buy a Spyder, too. Lol. So that was cool.

Warpig was the place to be. I really miss that whole thing. The community, the in-depth tech articles and reviews. The Mills did an excellent job. You don't see a lot of that in paintball these days.

        Pbreview was awesome.

I used to drool over the autococker and parts reviews.

??? There's not a lot of action there but there's still tons of good info. It's not like there is a ton of new mag stuff to talk about.

Those guys really helped me out putting together my mag and now it's one of my favorite markers

          Paintballforum.com

. It was kind of like MCB with more younger players, not the s show that is pbn though.

It's still there but has about as much traffic as a refrigerator shop in antarctica

You can search my user name on AO to see why I peaced out first-hand. My recollection is that the majority of active members were supporting harmful conspiracy theories, prejudice, etc. Even if contained to a political subforum, I lost all respect for that community and want no part of it.

I was the lead mod there in the early days. It was form by the guys who owned xpaintball.com, as a way to advertise the retail side.

So one quirk about the site was that you were ONLY allowed to mention one paintball retailer, xpaintball. Any other company mentioned in a thread would be automatically removed, and any attempts to bypass the text filter would get suspensions and bans. That was 90% of my job as mod on the lead forums. that, and removing dick picks.

Sometime in the early 00's, the forum was bought up by verticalscope. They were buying up "sports, hunting, and motorsports" websites all over the internet. The main difference for the mods was the text filtering changed, and the text rules changed.... steered to different websites. It becamse a bit over commercialized, and they took in some admins that wanted somethng more like PBnation... and I wasnt interested, so I left. xpaintball itself was sold to paintball-online.com

Then around 2011, or 2012, verticalscope bought pbnation, near its peak for big bucks. They tried to shake up the forums a bit, but they were all dumpster fires at that point, cannibalizing each other. verticalscope really pushed for all those hideous "gold ups" and other terrible money making ideas.

Verticalscope ended up buying 1500 or so websites.

me an trbo picked up admin status on paintballforum.com after Medic left.

It died a slow and painful death after xpaintball sold it. verticalscope doesn't impress me as a company.

I'm not even sure how I became admin because I only remember becoming a mod

Not that I actually remember how to do anything admin related (or have time these days)

Martix if you die, pbf goes with you

                No pressure

Also on a side note, I remember a thread your made around 2007 with the very scientific purpose of discovering which alcohols that you owned were flammable

oh PBF was long dead before i left. Why are you bringing up 2007 me? Those were weird times that I should like to forget.
I believe that John from PBN was made an admin, because it's the same company that owns it. Not that it matters. I don't think he's an employee for them anymore; recently there was a largescale downsizing for that company.

And yea. Facebook killed forums. Forums are far superior, but facebook is more accessable.
