They keep teasing this tech and never releasing. First time I saw it was over a decade ago now; also at CES. If they ever get this right, it'll change how we design our homes. These types of TVs will be a window out of the room. When viewing, it has it's own blackout curtain that rolls up providing a theater-like experience with no additional fuss. Plus, the same room layout for watching TV is perfectly suitable for viewing the scenery. It's perfect. Until that's all part of the pitch, I'm not actually interested. For even longer we've had electric frosted glass. Flip a switch and the clear glass becomes frosted providing privacy or a place onto which one can project video. Projector required obviously. I've seen this glass most commonly used in exterior windows, even glass shower walls, but also for tv viewing.
