Could somebody with honed Google-fu skills help me?

I'm looking for a Honeywell gas valve. Model number: WV8870A1008

I've found two on eBay, but it looks like the thermometer is missing on both.

This is for my elderly mom's water tank. I'd like to fix it up rather than spend the extra couple hundred on a new tank.

My first go to was www.ereplacementparts.com, but a model number search came up negative. I then stumbled on this on Amazon. Seems like it may be a newer style replacement?

That one has the wrong connectors. I have considered buying that one, though, and the accompanying burners, and "upgrading" it I guess.

I need something like this.

Tough one. Everything you find out there is for the 40gal models (I think, based on part numbers). I came up empty handed, sorry.

Damn. I used to do HVAC and I've installed plenty of HWTs. But I've never seen this black valve before. It was always either the white one like BrickHaus found, or the old cast valves. I wonder what the deal is.

I would call some of the supply houses and ask. They frequently have more info on what parts will work than can be easily found online. I've ordered from these folks in the past and had success: https://www.supplyhouse.com

It is a crap shoot, but you can also contact Honeywell directly. They will know what part(s) you need for a replacement.

That is it. But they usually put a temperature probe on the back. This looks like it's missing that. I messaged the guy and asked about it. We'll see what he says.
