PE is just putting +1 after the name and sometimes+0.1
Dye pretty much just uses 3 letters they pulled from a hat

Its Meh because other than orings for detents (super cool by the way) what exactly does this have/do that any combination of other markers dont already have or do? similar bolt to others, similar battery setup to others, trigger is removable...others do this. I read your reddit review and its apparent there is some advancements to components but its still nothing that isnt just a better version of something that already exists. I am not sitting here saying its garbage. Dye guns are amazing and I would love to own it but it doesnt scream revolutionary. Its just a bunch of updates. yes it doesnt exactly carry over from other DYE platforms but it isnt anything that makes me say, man...isnt that clever. No moderns markers do really. The pinnacle of markers came, hung out for a bit, and went. Its gonna take some alien technology to make markers any better than they already are.Do hard things for fun. Being soft is for sissies. Being an asshole is easy, thats why everyone is one. Being stand up us hard. Be a hard bastard but be respectful.Comment

I highly doubt you'll care, but the MXR has some unique functional bits: It's a fill-to-fire spool with a chamber-sensing valve.
If you don't care about such technical details, it's a modern spool valve marker that effectively shoots paintballs. I think in terms of "Dye", this is a huge step forward. Whether you want to define those improvements as "revolutionary" or not is up to you. I go into some detail in the link in my post above.

PE tries to use the same naming scheme that BMW(I think?) uses .Boring, dull, but you know what it is by looking at the name of it, if you understand the code.
DYE is weird indeed. I suspect that's an acronym for each one, but I honestly don't know.
There's still plenty of unique names out there outside of these companies though.Comment
