    So, What Happened?

I'm guessing the story is on Facebutt or something. Fill us in!

P.S. I realized that I really had an MCB problem over the last week. Every 30 minutes or so I'd instinctively go to the site, only to be reminded of the outage.

Super briefly. Probable flaw in forum software allowed for server exploit. Hacker deleted everything. Wanted $9,300.00 in ransom. Carter said, "screw you" and we'll start over. That's the really short and sweet.

Having recently read "never split the difference", I wonder if it would be possible to negotiate down to $186.22 and a jar of Hellmann's.

I should flag this post for being too positive.

The strangest aspect to me is scrolling to see every member with single digit post numbers and this month join date. I CAN'T TRADE WITH ANY OF YOU!!!!

On the real, really hate that everything is lost. Perhaps we can all use our 'borg consciousness to repopulate the data base.

Thanks for getting everything back so soon, Painthappy.

I think the thing I'm going to miss the most are the private messages, sadly. When the site went away, I was in the middle of two deals that I was working out through PMs, but I don't remember exactly what those names were, so all that's done, I guess. And I had plenty of other messages I had saved for months or even years because that was the one guy who I knew I could count on for o-rings or wave springs or whatever.

But it will all come back eventually, I'm sure. All the important stuff, anyway.

Well, everything on MCB may be gone but we can still pull information from the way back machine if we had a few solid stickies that we wish to recover and repost
