Amazing things cold can do

This morning I woke to -2 degrees. When I went out and noticed something. Just a chair with ice on the seat, but something was sticking out of it.



As if it's giving me the finger.

-22 C°(-7 F°) cracked the windshield on both my cars in the same day.

This happened to me once when I used the "wiper warmer" feature on a vehicle. It wasn't as cold as your experience, but heating a super cold piece of glass...makes sense

It gets well below zero up here on the regular and we don't have glass breaking because of it. Not saying its not possible but it was probably something else.

gabe It's a combination of older cars, existing rock chips, and running the heater on full blast. Never the less, in one day both broke. Just about every windshield in Calgary is cracked, though.

It was -18 ( F) Monday and (-20) Tuesday. Parts of the state reported even colder temps. This is a screen shot from my GPS location at work.
